Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly called "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade of an item can be a method to increase the stats of your weapon and armor. This can be accomplished through a variety of methods such as using upgrade components or increasing an item's rarity or mark level. A lot of items can be reforged to increase their value.

Upgradeable items can be found in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The primary method to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components provide specific bonuses, while others offer general bonuses.

To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. It will show the expected statistics after the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the two, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.

The amount of upgrade components needed for a specific item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, but it can be reduced by various methods, including purchasing upgrades at a merchant or trading them with other players.

Many weapons can be improved by a prefix like a rune or an insignia, and others can be upgraded with a suffix. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They are animated to grab the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them more effective in conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs also improve the likelihood of remembering the message by triggering a familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph can increase a stat's value by a certain amount. This is displayed on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This isn't the exact amount at which the glyph will increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that has not yet been added to your equipment, you can transfer it to another piece of equipment by utilizing the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create an entirely new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can take out a glyph by using the Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item on which the glyph is located will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be recovered by removing the glyph fragments.

Adding a glyph to an item may cause it to be unstable, and the shards of the glyph will disappear from your inventory once you dismantle the item. You can also add a glyph on your equipment to give it a bonus. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and distribute it slowly instead of all at one time. This is useful for players who take many hits from enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes of equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from many sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll token grants the player a new random affix, which is usually better than the original one. Reroll tokens can also be used to improve weapon stats for more damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items are not listed in the menu of item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle these rerolled items. This will alter the design of the item's window and let up to six items be chosen for recycling. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its own level, so items with higher levels are more useful to recycle than lower-level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls will determine the percentage chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.

Leveling
