It can even return to the dock to top up its battery halfway through a clean.

It's extremely efficient and does an outstanding job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It cleans the carpeted rooms extremely quickly and hardwood floors in the kitchen, hallways, and living room in a single sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa makes short work of picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection automatically increases power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush assists in removing debris from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, but not by a lot. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high velocity and pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, easily scrubbing up dirt and staining. I've also noticed that the front arms protrude out slightly more than other robots, which is helpful for getting into tight corners and on baseboards. The front arms can also be used to scoop up larger pieces of debris, like broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tested. It is quieter and doesn't produce as much noise when vacuuming or mopping. The S1 Pro is only limited by the fact that it needs to use a mopping solution that is proprietary and is sold separately. It's simple to install and performs well however, this is something you'll have to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of mopping.

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive of our review. However, it does have certain unique features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's most appealing feature is its huge dock which serves as the robot's charging base and the housing for two 4-liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and the 2.5-liter dust bin that is automatically empties.

The base comes with a few control buttons that allow you to manually start cleaning tasks, recall the robot or run the dock’s auto-emptying procedure. Hold down two of the buttons to switch on the child lock which is a great option for parents concerned about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Similar to other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni utilizes its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path and avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with an obstruction, such as an electrical cord dangling across a rug that it becomes stuck and ceases to function until you free it. This is a rare event however it was frustrating since the X1 does not have an "stuck status" alert in its application.

Another possible issue is another issue is the X1 Omni's inability to automatically switch between mopping and vacuuming modes during cleaning. You'll need to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad but mopping pads don't get cleaned or dried between use. This could lead to mildew and mold.

On the positive side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot, thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who came up with its modern, sleek base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a major contrast to the utilitarian, all-black bases used by competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky, boxy units.
