Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The best method to improve your equipment in Path of Exile is through item upgrades. This lets you enhance your gear without having to rely on expensive drops or trades. This article will show you how to upgrade your items efficiently.

Upgrades to equipment provide a bonus on the item's stats. This bonus scales according to the rarity and strength of the upgrade component.

Components

Upgrade components are the items that improve your armor and weapons more effective. You can acquire them by the destruction of enemies, finding them in spheres of items or buying them from karma dealers. They can also be salvaged from equipment that has them or by using an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Upgrade components aren't destroyed when you remove them from the item.
