It's very quick and does an excellent job of cleaning my two bedroom apartment. It vacuums carpeted areas extremely quickly, and hardwood floors in the kitchen, automatic vacuum cleaner living room, and hallways in a single pass. The motor's 8,000pa power allows it to remove dirt, pet hair, and even droppings with ease. Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it comes in contact with carpets and the two side brushes help to tease out debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency, while still impressive, is not as effective. The mop's rotating motor spins at a high speed and it pushes down with 2.2lbs of force, effortlessly scraping away dirt and stains. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when getting into narrow corners or on baseboards. Those same front arms can also be employed to clean larger objects, such as broken toys and books.

Another good robot vacuum thing is that the S1 Pro is one of the most quiet robot vacuums and mops I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't create more noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only downside is that the S1 Pro must use a specific cleaning solution to perform mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's simple to install and is effective however, this is something you'll have to keep an eye on when you purchase this vacuum for the sole purpose of it mopping.

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. However, it has distinct features that make it worth looking into. The X1 Omni is most notable for its huge dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a sink for cleaning and two water tanks that are 4 liters in size. It also houses two bins: a 2.5-liter dustbin and a 2.5 dust bin that is 2.5 liters.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start cleaning and then recall the robot or use the dock's automatic emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock. This is a wonderful feature for parents worried about their children playing with the vacuum.

The Omni Omni like other robotic vacuums uses its camera to identify furniture and obstacles in its path. It will stay clear of them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

Unfortunately, this means that the X1 Omni could occasionally become so entangled with an obstacle--such as the power cord that is draped across a rug, that it gets stuck and stops working until you remove it manually. While it was not common however, it was a gruelling experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni does not come with an "stuck" status alert in its application.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two, which isn't too bad aside from the fact that mopping pads aren't washed and dried between uses which could lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed its sleek modern base and mopping pad. It's a major departure from the utilitarian, black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot, and a welcome appearance in a market which is dominated by clunky boxes and clunky models.
