Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The process of upgrading an item, often known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.

Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling items scales depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by many different methods, including using upgrade components as well as upgrading an item's mark level or rarity. A lot of items can be reforged to boost their value.

There are items that can be upgraded throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. Players can also make them. The most common method of upgrading gear is through the use of upgrade components which are components that can be inserted into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer an overall bonus.

There are many types of upgrade elements in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gems and enchantments, are able to be put in any equipment type and offer less bonuses than those that are type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs are only available in gathering tools. They offer a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to providing extra crafting material.

Select the item in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, and any necessary components or materials. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The upper-right side of the screen shows the number of upgrade components required for an item. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the rarity and level of the item. However you can cut down on the cost of upgrades by purchasing them from a vendor or trading them with other players.

Almost all weapons can be upgraded with a prefix upgrade for example, an insignia or rune, and a lot of them can be upgraded with suffix upgrades. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a powerful tool for communicating visual information. They are animated to grab the viewer's eye and stimulate curiosity. The glyphs' animation mimics body language, making them even more effective at conveying a message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also increase the retention of messages by creating an emotional connection in the brain.

Each glyph has a set of values it can enhance a stat, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This isn't the actual amount at the glyph can increase a stat, but the maximum value by which it is able to do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are enchanting.

Most upgrade components inserted into items can't be repaired or replaced without dismantling the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been applied to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by selecting the Upgrade Glyphs menu in the Glyphs Panel. This will create a new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.

You can remove any glyph with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. This will cause the item to be destroyed in which it is installed, but you can recover the upgraded item using the glyph and its shards, therefore, it shouldn't be considered as a loss.

When you take away an item level upgrade after adding a glyph the shards that are part of the glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph to your equipment to add an additional benefit. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is useful for players who take lots of damage from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from many sources, such as mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with a random affix that is generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade the weapon's stats to increase damage or bonuses.

Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for upgrade options, however they can still be upgraded. By pressing the "upgrade button" you can recycle the recycled items. This will change the layout of the item's window and let up to six items be selected to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined by the rarity of the item and its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower level ones.

Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll the % chance of a weapon trait. If it is higher, the weapon is upgraded, and if it rolls lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to 3 times.

A reroll is a good option for upgrading an item, however, players should be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon by the number of rerolls used to raise it to its final ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective with Diadems and ring items that don't have other options for raising ilvls.

The reroll system has been criticized by players for being too expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it with money or food items which would allow them to change their builds without wasting time and effort. The developers aren't planning to implement paid rerolls at this stage in the game's development. Instead, they're planning to include an ability to change races in the future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The first method of leveling up an upgrade to an item is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This boosts the upgrade value for the stat. The second option is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which can increase the healing or damage for a stat. The base Best item upgrade can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. When this is done the new item will keep its iLevel however it will benefit from the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.

When you upgrade items it is essential to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are occasions when a greater or special roll can occur.
