Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills, staining) in one time without having to swap out devices. They can also save space in comparison to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank, and wash their mopping pads with an appropriate dock.

The mops are spun at a high speed and utilize 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to quickly remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a variety of brushes and attachments as well as an intuitive app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like to do for each room.

The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and smart navigation tech are superb, with the robot being capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. The hinged lid can be opened to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to remove the mount itself for manual washing. I've observed that any soft carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and could cause scratches.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a range of intelligent features, including support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can manage and set up these via the Roborock app that is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also lets you to schedule cleanings and monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering the quality of its performance.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop equipped with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and innovative features. Its innovative design allows for customised and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner that can deliver 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the top options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up the dry mess, which includes pet hair and dust. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves hard floors spotlessly clean, even with a wet pad.
