1. iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in the fact that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. This makes the i3+ a great choice for people who want a hands-off, fully automated cleaning experience but don't mind manually emptying their robot's dustbin when it is full.

Both robots are proficient at removing surface dirt on hard floors and carpets and can maneuver around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ or other top rated robots we tested, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may be stuck on things like power cords or socks, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum prior to when you use it, including putting away any clutter or toys it may encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean so that they don't become clogged with dirt. When the i3+ EVO's internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically empties the dirt into the station's external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning robots for home where it started. Battery life is about an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes about three hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line, and it is equipped with the most recent features. It is self-charging and self-navigating. But the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and you can direct your robot using the app or via voice.

The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, though, is its self-emptying dustbin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with best amazon vacuum Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning session and move around the room and vacuum a specific space. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. Once connected, to give voice commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The sophisticated whole-machine filter system traps allergens, then lets cleaner air into your home. The specialized head uses rigid nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and collect large crumbs or fine dust. It has three suction modes to meet the task at hand. It can quickly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum and vice versa.

This model comes with a dock which charges the Dyson to 100 percent within 3.5 hours. It also provides an easy access to two attachments and an Wand. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons, that require a long charge and are a pain to store.

The V10's biggest drawback is its short run time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is a typical and not a remarkable time for the battery-powered cordless vacuum. This is enough time to sweep the average-sized home, but not enough to get into every corner. (A second pass is usually sufficient). That's not to say this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming efficiency is better on low-pile carpet.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of iRobot's most adored robot vacuums, the 694 is an entry-level model that's a great option for those who don't want to invest too much money on a robot. It was able to remove most types of debris in our tests and would often go over the same area many times to give a thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice touch.

Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and navigate your home. However, it lacks the ability to map that is found in more advanced models, including our top picks, the i3+EVO and j7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or furniture and often runs out of power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer components that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower recurring cost, has more advanced automation abilities and is able to better move itself. It also has a bigger dustbin, and charges more quickly.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba. It also comes with physical boundaries and can be controlled by the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels more sturdy and has a stronger motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and carpets with low pile, while offering a wider range of automation options.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a household name in home electronics. It's no surprise that they are also among the Top rated robot Vacuum producers of robot vacuums and mop. Their Jet Bot AI+ is packed with cutting-edge onboard technology for navigation and obstacles avoidance.

The app provides a range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. These include virtual barriers, mopping levels and behavior customizations docking frequency settings and many more. The app is easy to use and understand as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests of the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and handled dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86 percent of it. However, it didn't do particularly well in avoiding larger objects, like cords and socks, which was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested and this could be a problem for certain shoppers.

The smart vacuum comes with an onboard camera that can be accessed through the app. You can also create a live stream from the robot's cleaning station.
