The company began expanding its operations overseas in the late 1980s to profit from new markets and sales opportunities. It established the Cera Trading Company, importing and selling other manufacturers' products to complement its own lines of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy boosted sales and expanded the firm's market share in the world.

In the 1990s Toto began to focus on research and development for water-related appliances. It also redesigned its system of distribution to better serve its customers and boost profits. The company also employed the approach of just-in-time in its supply chain management as well as sales program. This resulted in a greater level of customer satisfaction.

Toto continued to develop toilet technology. Its most recent toilet, for example is equipped with a strong tornado flush that is more ecologically friendly than traditional toilets. The company also uses recycled water in its production process and has a green purchasing policy. In addition to toilets Toto manufactures faucets and bathtubs, as well as hand dryers that are more efficient in terms of energy consumption than typical models.

The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It has exhibitions on the most iconic products of Toto, their evolution, the group companies (all of which are made from ceramics), the history of plumbing and products such as bath units. Before the formation of Toto the band, members of the group did sessions for many musicians. They also appeared on records by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

Discography

With a name like Asia you'd think that the group would be prog queens and kings but they're actually a fairly straightforward rock band. The band began as four-piece, and released two albums that were self-titled in 1979 and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. Although the band have a variety of musical backgrounds, their biggest success came in 1982 with Toto IV.

The album was a massive blockbuster but not without its issues. The record companies put Toto under pressure to deliver a hit single or they would rescind the album. Luckily for Toto they delivered and they did it with the assistance of the smash single "Africa."

Toto's musical mastery is the result of their prior experience. Before forming the group, the members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs. Steely Dan and Seals and 안전놀이터 추천 (recommended) Crofts. Their distinctive sound has since become the standard for '80s pop, influencing many modern artists.

The album opens up hard with songs such as Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to create great AOR songs that slowly sink into your head. The album also includes some more jazzy, slower tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album concludes with Great Expectations. This song blends folk and distortion AOR which could seem like a complete blunder, but works very well.

After Toto IV the band's fortunes started to plummet. David Hungate left to concentrate on his solo career, and the band went through numerous drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball left the group due to drug charges. The band continued with Michael Porcaro, 스포츠토토 Steve Lukather and Michael Porcaro.

Toto released Isolation despite the turmoil. It was not as well-liked as IV. The band managed to release an album that was chart-topping, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the end of Toto's lineup and the debut of Simon Phillips, a new singer.

Line-up

The band's third album, Turn Back, marked an reversion to the classic sextet arrangement of previous albums and was a more ferocious, consistent effort with an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. Its more punk-rock sound was indicative of the maturation of group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's greater proficiency on the drums, as well as a more confident, mature vocal delivery by singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's work was more precise, sharper and less cloned on previous recordings.

After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live performance in Amsterdam which was released as a two-CD set titled Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. A new studio album was released a few months later, and the group went on a long-distance tour to promote the album. In this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.

In 1998, Paich and Lukather started looking through old demos and tapes in search of an album that would feature songs that had never been recorded before. The album was released in 2001 and released as a double album called Then and Now. It was the first album in the history of the band not to include one single track with the word "A" in the title, and it also contained one previously not released track, "Kari-Anne".

By 2003, Toto had begun to decline in popularity. The group's fourth album, Old Is New, was a commercial flop and vocalist Williams was suffering from a severe laryngitis condition which limited his singing capabilities. Hungate also returned to Nashville and Leland Sklar's drumming was replaced by Shem Von Schroeck.

Downes, Wetton Palmer and Howe, the original members of Asia The original Asia members met in England in the early part of 2006 to discuss the possibility that the group could be reformed. This lineup, minus Howe who was occupied with Yes during that time, became Toto XIV. They toured extensively.

In 2010, the band reunited for another reunion tour with a slightly different line-up, including guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather, drummer John Pierce, bassist Shannon Forrest, and multi-instrumentalists Warren Ham and Dominique Taplin. The band also had a special guest appearance from singer Michael McDonald and a backing vocalist named Mabvuto Carver.
