The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can mop and vacuum without needing your attention. It leaves your floors spotless. Its low cost and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detector) are positives.

The robots also feature a feature called Carpet Boost which boosts its power when it detects dirt on the carpet.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system doesn't include AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to get caught up in socks and shoes and couldn't navigate rooms with a lot of people efficiently in our tests. It doesn't also come with a camera to look around corners.

It's still a good deal particularly if your office or home has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used when you're at work or at school. The only thing it doesn't have that you can't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it quick to clean and efficient at tackling larger particles like pet hair. It also features a powerful suction and self-emptying bin. It's the best robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This top-performing mop and vacuum combination makes use of advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it also learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones using the app that is well-designed. Its battery life is average in comparison to other models.

You can tell the X30 Ultra to remove its mops and to extend them when in a room with carpet which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm can also be used to reach under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. It doesn't offer the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Pro+ as well as the iRobot Combo j9+.

It can clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuums that mop vacuum/mop combination.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With an elegant circular design that looks like a regular Roomba rather than the boxes this robot vacuum and mop combo is one of the most attractive looking models in our tests. The latest model from iRobot happens to be its smartest and has advanced features like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuum cleaner reviews we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station, and it has an the industry's highest suction of 12,000Pa and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40 is, like the other iRobot products, is simple to use. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only issue is that it's still quite loud which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or at night as you try to fall asleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra, both of which are similarly capable and look better. If you're willing with a bit more noise and a little more cost, this is a very powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a range of advanced features that will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs the top of the line X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It comes with a multi-function dock that will automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its competitors with premium features. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards but this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum cleaner comes with an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also comes with "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates how hard the vacuum works and also adjusts the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home according to the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose models with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean one particular area of your house using the app or voice controls. A stair mode can be useful if you own a number of furniture. Also, a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

It's also self-sufficient, with a fully-featured app as well as an auto-emptying washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping that collects data on your floorplan and any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, plan the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.
