Carpet detection automatically boosts power when it detects carpets and the dual side brush helps to remove debris from corners.

The mopping efficiency is less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and makes use of 2.2lbs to clean dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arms stick out a bit more than other robots, which is useful to get into tight corners and along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to pick up larger objects such as books and toys that have been damaged.

Another great feature is that the S1 Pro is one of the quietest robot vacuums and mop I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't produce more noise when vacuuming or mopping. The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive in our review. It does however, have certain unique features that are worth a look. The X1 Omni is notable for its massive dock that serves as a charging base for the robot, a cleaning sink and two 4-liter water tanks. It also houses the 2.5-liter dustbin and an 2.5 milliliter dust bin.

The base comes with a few control buttons, which allow you to manually start cleaning tasks and then recall the robot or use the dock's auto-emptying procedure. Press two of the buttons to toggle the child lock, which is a nice option for parents concerned about children playing with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums, the X1 Omni uses its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

The X1 can be prone to become stuck when it is entangled in a blockage like the power cable that is draped over a rug. It will not work until you untangle it manually. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it did happen particularly since the X1 Omni doesn't have an "stuck" status alert on its application.

The X1 Omni is unable to automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during cleaning. You will need to manually swap between the two modes, which isn't an issue aside from the fact that mopping pads haven't been cleaned and dried between use which could lead to mildew or mold.

On the bright side it's worth noting that the X1 Omni is a beautiful-looking robot vacuum and mop thanks to the design team at Jacob Jensen (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who conceptualized its sleek, modern-looking base and mopping pad apparatus. It's a big change from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock and iRobot and a pleasing appearance in a market that is dominated by bulky boxes and clunky models.
