UPVC Replacement Door Handles

As time passes the handles on your doors will wear out and will require replacement. When doing this it is crucial that the new handles are in line with the exact dimensions of the old handle.

The top screw position, the lever and the keyhole sizes are the three measurements you have to determine. Refer to the size guide for help with this.

The sprung lever design allows the handle to be placed and angled for comfortable operation and is suitable for all users. The handle has been endurance-tested to 200 000 cycles. This ensures that the finish is of high quality and performance is maintained over time. The sprung lever is also adjustable to accommodate a wide range of locks. This is particularly useful in doors that are narrower, where the cylinder is further away from the door. A shortened lever can also be used for doors with a latch that can be activated with the thumb inside.

Lever Pad

The lever pad upvc handle is different from the lever handles that are found on most doors. These handles can use a single spindle (inline) or independently from both sides using two inline or offset spindles (pad). They are usually used on UPVC double glazing handle glazed doors and come in many variations & styles.

The handles have been tested to the minimum of 200k cycles and are available in a variety of finishes, including White and Silver, as well as Chrome & Gold. The finish is BS EN 1670 Grade 5 and resistant to corrosion. This provides the handle with a high performance and long-lasting durability for its intended purpose.

Cylinder locks are typically found on uPVC doors, but they can be utilized on other types of door. The cylinder lock is operated with a key that unlocks the cylinder's case. The case is then able to reveal pins that can be aligned to the pins in the lock, and permit them to turn the revolving camera, thereby opening the door. Euro Cylinders are available with up to six pins. Doors that are internal and external require different levels of security.

The selection of a cylinder is crucial. It is based on the amount of use your doors and handles receive. For instance, exterior doors require a more secure cylinder while doors inside can be secured using an ordinary cylinder. Certain cylinders come with extra features that increase security, like anti-drill or anti bump properties.

To ensure that the euro cylinder is the right size for your door, it should be measured correctly. The cylinder needs to be measured from the central screw hole to the ends of the cylinder. This includes the thumb turn if there is one. If you are unable to measure using the lock in its position, you can remove it. A cylinder that protrudes beyond the handle and escutcheon might be susceptible to attacks like lock snapping, so it is crucial that it is not too long.

The design of many modern cylinders comes with anti-drilling as well as bump resistance features. They are designed to minimize attack chances by forcing the cylinders to rotate in a different direction. This will help deflect the attack, and ensure your door is secure.

There are also cylinders that are designed to withstand snapping. Spring Cassette

The spring cassette is positioned inside the base of the door handle backplate, supplying a spring-loaded solution that returns your multipoint lock handles to their original position after usage. The handles were previously equipped with no spring and would droop when the locking mechanism was disengaged. This simple feature is one of the best methods to correct this issue and is an excellent way to stop your doors made of upvc from becoming stuck in either closed or open position, since they are not always easy to close manually.

These spring cassettes are specifically made for use with sprung multipoint locks but they won't work with multipoint handles that are not sprung and you will require a hole specifically cut in your backplate to allow these to fit (please look at the image for a technical diagram).
