Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Players can upgrade their weapons and equipment with new attachments. They can also increase its stats base or add additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Usually, items that have weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base, while objects with strong bases, such as eth titans do not vary significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute benefit, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved in loot from enemies, or obtained from missions and chests. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain point before they can be upgraded.

In order to upgrade an item of armor, the user must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will display a preview on the right side of the screen, showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the necessary element or material required to make that happen.

There are three kinds of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, can be put in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Prior to this, some upgrades were given priority affixes which made them easier to roll. This meant that you could get the stats that mattered most to your build more often than other. This included stats such as the armor's total armour, thorns and diminished duration due to control or the weapon's bonus attack speed and crit strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This can be a great or a negative thing depending on your needs and requirements from your equipment.

Each upgraded item may come with a bonus that increases the Item Upgrader Kit's power by a specific percentage or flat value. These bonuses are rolled in addition to the standard affixes. The more you upgrade a product, the greater your chance of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an item. This is a good method to give an individual character more power without spending a ton of money.

Many players have the habit of rerolling their weapons and gear, especially in the early stages. Rerolling can help you get a more powerful character faster, allowing you to advance in the game and reach higher tiers.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be organized in different ways. They can be of different dimensions, have none of the elements, or contain one element. Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item upgrades and the items required to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth Face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also visit the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general, weapons and jewelry offer better trade value when fully upgraded than armor. Upgrades to gold are recommended for weapons that have spells or glyphs that damage weapons. This will result in a significant increase in their stats. Weapons with an upgraded appearance will benefit from this upgrade, since its defense value will increase as it goes from purple to gold.
