Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that automatic vacuum and mop and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one time, without having to switch between devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will offer excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks and machine-wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've tested. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, a hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that is able to clean up a storm and is a great vacuum cleaner too. The mops spin at fast speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of dirt, pet hair and dried sticky spills. The automatic vacuum cleaner comes with four power modes, a selection of brushes and attachments, and a user-friendly app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

For instance, you can decide to let the robot do a deep clean in the living and kitchen areas but go easy on the spare bedroom. The S1 Pro's front collision sensors and its smart navigation technology are excellent too and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed. However, a quick look at the cleaning history on the app will tell you precisely what the robot has accomplished, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that need to be done including emptying the debris tray and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the tank in a controlled manner, using a 600ml eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum come with a long-running time. The mop is able to run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can run for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. The app is easy to use and intuitive that lets you view all the details of the cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot mop and vacuum, is the newest version. Unlike last year's model it comes with two agitators in its mopping pad, which significantly improves its carpet cleaning abilities. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity that allows it to remove smaller hairs and other particles other robotic cleaners could miss.

Like the other two Roborock models I've tried, this one has reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to can help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by adding a dual camera which can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It can then automatically change its path and clean around them without missing a beat.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed however, it's also the most feature-packed. Its sleek, angular style is attractive and it has just three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin as well as a 200ml tank of water. The water tank automatically emptys and the bin auto-refills.

The only negative I discovered with this model was that its VibraRise mop pad mount is not removable. While you can swap out the mopping cloth (if needed) but it's a challenge to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've noticed that any carpet that the robot crosses will be in contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on the mount, which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app, which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll have to go through some hoops to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame, considering the performance otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a market leader with its innovative features, top suction power, and advanced mopping capabilities. Its intelligent design allows for customized and efficient cleaning while also saving time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first one to provide 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful options available. This powerful vacuum can clean up dry mess, including pet hair and crumbs. It also has a high-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. The X40 is also very quiet when in operation with only occasional bursts during modes changes or self-maintenance.

The X40 has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are hard to reach and clean furniture with curved edges like chairs and table legs. It also allows the robot to reach under furniture with a low profile making it an ideal choice for small apartments and condos with tight spaces. The side brush tilts automatically down when it spots wet spots. This is a great feature that enables the X40 to prevent damage to floors from excessive back-and forth movements.

Contrary to other robots which only focus on one thing, the X40 can perform both vacuuming and mopping simultaneously or individually. It can also be programmed to skip areas with carpet and mop only hard floors, or reverse the process. It can be controlled by the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operations.

The app is simple to use and intuitive The X40 is equipped with many clever features that are easy to configure. Users can program the X40 to clean at certain times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's finished.

The X40 is easy to clean and has numerous features that make it an ideal option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, washes the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It can also detect whether the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available however, it comes with a lot of additional features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to scrub floors more thoroughly than the traditional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also vacuum up pet hair, small dirt particles, and clean up spills and soiled spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is an option we haven't seen before on other robot vacuum reviews mop or vacuum models. It could be a great method to keep your home clean longer.

There are many options, including the option to schedule cleanings and change preferences. These can be set via the app, or via buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are many features that other robots do not have - such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles instead of relying on the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most elegant robots we've seen on market, sporting a white and metallic design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than the other robots on this listing, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. The mopping design is also excellent, and the double rotating mops work well on hard floors and in corners. They can also extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice feature.
