It's the only robotic hoovers vacuum/mop that scored 100% in our evaluations, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra is also the only robot vacuum reviews we tested that can fully self-refill and empty its base station and it has an industry-leading 12,000Pa suction and self-cleaning mop pads.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is easy to operate. It has an easy mobile application interface and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's still quite a noisy unit which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work or at night as you try to fall asleep.

It's also a bit expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. It's a dual-purpose vacuum that's extremely powerful however, it's going to cost you more and create more noise.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features that will let you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device, similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically empty the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, and washes and dries the mop pads.

It can be used to design cleaning schedules or to organize an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to prioritize the most soiled areas for better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, customized mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

It is also able to reach corners and under furniture more easily because its shape is more rectangular. It features a powerful 8,000 Pascal suction, as well as sophisticated combs that remove pet hair. You can also create a spot-cleaner that thoroughly cleans a specific area.
