WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boost in specific stats. Each upgrade items boosts the item level upgrade level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

The more modernized gear generally has a more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variation (like the eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used to upgrade will remain in use for a long time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up to date.

The cost of upgrades will be based on the current level of the item being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item upgrader kit will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They can be bought by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor using the help of button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the slot for the item and the current level of the item. For example, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each step costs 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer discounts on Flightstones. After an item has been upgraded to a certain amount and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

Item upgraders can be found at many locations on the main island and some outposts. The NPCs offer an upgrade coupon and a possibility of getting an entirely new recipe. The discount for upgrading increases when more items are upgraded. It can be increased if players complete certain achievements or quests.

Crests

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it does bring some changes to the upgrade process. For example, once an item is at the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't need Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to upgrade their equipment up to the highest ilvl possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one purpose, so it's important to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the Best item upgrader gear you have available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you're planning to create.
