The i3+ does not have obstacle avoidance capabilities like the i7+ or other top-rated robots we have tested. It may be stuck on power cords or socks and have trouble moving between different surfaces like hardwood and rug.

iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes putting away any toys or clutter it may come across. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clear so they aren't clogged by dirt. If the i3+ EVO's internal bin is full or its battery is low it goes back to its docking station, automatically emptying its dirt into the station's dust bin, and then continues cleaning the area where it left off. The battery's lifespan is around an hour and a half of constant usage. It takes 3 hours to fully charge.

2. iRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It has self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is its auto-emptying bin. This eliminates the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, an application that allows it to map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and direct your robot by voice or through the app.

The i7+ is quicker and more maneuverable in our tests compared to the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin that removes a major source of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility amazon robot vacuum Alexa and Google Assistant AI services that we used to instruct the robot to start, stop or pause its cleaning routines and move around the room and sweep the area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. When connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, best automatic vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options for managing i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

In a world filled with cordless vacs that are like minivans and buses, this tiny Dyson model is an automobile. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in the majority of homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a Lithium-ion battery with 7 cells of energy that produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system is able to trap allergens and then releases fresh air into your home. Its cleaning head is specially designed and drives bristles of nylon that are stiff and deep into carpet to suck up large dust and crumbs. It comes with three suction modes to match the task being performed. It is able to quickly switch from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.

This model also has an accessory dock that can charge to 100% in 3.5 hours, and gives users an easy access to two attachments as well as the clip for a wand. This is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons, which require a lengthy charge and are a pain to store.

The biggest issue with the V10 is its short run time. The claims of its marketing that it has up to 60 minutes of running time are a bit misleading, as CR's testing shows. This is a common, not exceptional, battery-powered cordless vacuum's run time. That's still enough run time to clean most of a typical-sized home but not long enough to clean every spot (though a second run-through usually will suffice). The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great option for those who don't have lots of money to invest in a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of kinds of debris in our tests, and often passes over the same areas several times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front side helps it to reach into corners and along the edges of walls which is a nice feature.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the mapping capabilities of more advanced models like our top selections and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and is often unable to supply power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways over the Roomba 694, as it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtering system, has a lower recurring cost, has more advanced automation capabilities and can better navigate itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.

The elegant RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most reasons, since it has a longer battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode manually and has physical boundary strips, and can be operated by your phone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a larger motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a name that is seen on a variety of home electronics So it's no surprise that they're one of the top rated robot vacuum robot vacuum and mop manufacturers. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows to navigate and avoid obstacles.

The app offers a variety of options for customizing your robotic cleaner. These include mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications docking frequency settings and much more. The app is easy to use and understand as are other Samsung devices.

In our tests in our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ performed well on hard floors. It cleaned up 86 percent of dog hair (on carpet). However, it did not do particularly well with taller objects like cords and socks which was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other models we tried which could be a problem for certain shoppers.
