1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is located at the edge of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear the G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends an electrical signal to ECU pin T55/49 using the grey wire. The ECU then uses this information to control the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends signals to the G5 tachometer inside the instrument cluster.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will display a P00160 error code. This means that the Crank Shaft is not in alignment with the Intake Camshaft. However, the code won't appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

It is a little tricky to test because there are several connector pins, and each one has different functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. It should read around 1000 ohms when it is at full operation. If you're experiencing issues with this sensor, look for evidence of oil or coolant in the connector bay.

2. Injectors

Yesterday accelerating full speed from highway paytoll, i experienced a big cut in power like the engine is out of gas or injectors aren't firing at all. This morning i pull out the spark plugs, three were drenched in gazoline, the 4th one was dry. I placed a tissue over each hole in the injector and when i turn the engine on without sparks, the ones that have gazoline pop right out. The 4th one remains shut. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55,30/55 and 48/55 I got zero Ohm. So i assume the problem is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start if the G28 is unplugged and it runs perfectly when it is plugged in however it has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant temperature sensor (G62) shows the wrong temp value -49c, even if I unplug it. Also, i noticed that the oil pressure gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 when i rev the engine.

I'm not sure what to do. I feel like i've pretty much eliminated everything else. I'm afraid i may have missed something. Let me know should you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 receives signals from the RPM sensor.
