1. Engine Speed Sensor

The ECU then uses this information to control the flow of fuel, timig and boost. It also sends an indicator to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference for comparing with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and the location of the camshaft so it can activate spark and injectors in the right way.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will show the P00160 error, which means the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft are not in sync and possibly indicating chain stretch or a jumped link on the upper timing chain. The code will not appear without the additional information supplied by other sensors (G4 or G40).

Testing is a bit challenging as there are two different connector pins and they have different functions but the most effective way to test it is to measure the resistance between the sensor and the ECU. When the sensor is fully operational, it should be reading around 1000 ohms. Look for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay if you have problems with this part.

2. Injectors

Yesterday, when i was accelerating to the fullest speed from highway paytoll i had a big cut in power like the engine is out of gas or injectors aren't firing anymore. In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, three were soaked with gazoline and the fourth one was dry. When I crank the engine, there are no sparks, i place a tissue on top of each injector hole, the 3 drenched with gazoline jump out but the 4th stays shut. I checked the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55, 30/55 and 48/55. i get zero Ohm. I'm assuming the issue is in another place.

I also tried to reset the PID but with no luck. The car will start when the G28 is disconnected, but it is running fine with the G28 connected. However, the intermittent misfire problem persists at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temp value that is -49c even after unplugging it. Also, i noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit is showing 2 bar while the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.

I'm not certain what to do, but i believe that i've completely ruled out all other possibilities. But i'm worried that I may have missed something. Please let me know should you have any suggestions! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump
