The j7+'s most notable feature is its obstacle recognition. It can identify pet waste and charging cables, shoes, and various toys. You can also program the j7+ to steer clear of specific areas or objects. In my tests the J7+ was able identify and avoid any obstacles.

The iRobot J7+ is among the most expensive robotic vacuums and mops available on the market, but it is a great value and can keep your list of tasks shorter. Its cutting-edge technology and suction power are unmatched.

Roomba S9+

The Roomba s9+ robotic vacuum is the first iRobot robot vacuum that uses "Perfect Edge Technology" which enables it to be closer to edges and corners. It also has a more compact design that makes it appear less imposing than other robot vacuums. Its sleek body is black with the lid in rose gold that opens for cleaning and dumping. Its controls are situated on the side, and not in the middle like other models. It's also smaller than its competitors, such as the Neato Botvac D7.

The s9+ has powerful suction that is 40 times more powerful than the previous model. It also has a compact brush design, which is designed to help to remove more debris in just one sweep. It was a success in my tests, picking up 95 percent of the Cheerios on carpet and 90 percent on hardwood. However, it did crush a few pieces of hard cereal and send them soaring across the floor.

It's simple to set up the s9+ and to use it, thanks to its intuitive app. You can schedule cleaning and decide which rooms to be cleaned, and you can even make voice commands using Alexa or Google Assistant. The app lets you check on the status of your cleaning and battery life.

Once the s9+ is finished, it goes back to its base, which also doubles as an outlet for charging and a dirt bin. Its dust bin is easy to clean and replace, and it's about half the size of other models. You can purchase another dustbin to keep in the bottom to do additional cleaning.

The s9+ also has the ability to work in conjunction with IRobot's Braava jet M6 mopping bot. This works via iRobot's Imprint Link Technology, which allows them to communicate with each other and share information. After the s9+ has finished vacuuming, it docks its Clean Base and then tells Braava to begin mopping. This combination is perfect for cleaning large, messy areas like the playroom after the celebration of a birthday. It's also a great option to clean up spills or sticky spots. This robot will be an ideal addition to any home.

Shark's AI Ultra

The Shark AI Ultra is a 2-in-1 robot vacuum and mop that combine powerful whole-home vacuuming and sonic mopping for a thorough clean of hard floors. It comes with an enormous self-emptying bin which can store debris for up to 60 days, so you don't have to empty it every time. It also has superior obstacle detection than other robots, which allows it to avoid obstacles like furniture and pet hair. However, some users have reported that the base fills up quickly and that it doesn't go to waste as quickly as advertised.

AI Ultra's navigation system uses 360-degree LIDAR vision to trace your home. It creates a precise floor plan and lets you set rooms as No-Go zones in the app. It can also navigate around objects and remain within the limits of your home even in dark areas. The mop also comes with UltraClean which scrubs floors up to 50% more quickly than traditional mopping.

The navigational system is a huge improvement over Shark's earlier designs, like the IQ, EZ and ION. It uses a matrix grid to cover the entire space multiple times, so it won't miss anything. The Ultra is more expensive than the Roborock Q5+ (9/10, WIRED Recommends) however it's much easier to maintain and has a much larger dirt capacity. It is also compatible with docks that automatically empty and performs better at maneuvering its own. It also has a more powerful vacuum motor and is less likely to be lost in thick carpeting. However, despite these advantages however, the IQ is still my favorite robot vacuum because it has self-emptying bins, a better navigation system, and a long battery life. Shark's AI ultra is an excellent choice to get an affordable vacuum. It is easier to clean, has longer battery life and feels better made. It's priced at $50 less than the Q5. However, if you're looking for an automatic bin that can be empty I would recommend the Roborock.

Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet is iRobot's advanced mopping robotic. It makes use of a precise jet spray to break down the sticky residues of kitchen grease and spills without causing damage to furniture or rugs. It also can tackle tough dirt and pet stains and leave your floors looking new. It's an automated cleaning machine that you can begin and stop at any time you want. It also works with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google assistant.

Setting up the m6 is easy. First, plug the mop into its base station and then fill its water tank. Download the iRobot App and follow the directions to connect the mop to Wi-Fi. Once connected, m6 is ready to start cleaning. Press one of the three buttons on the unit to start cleaning or use the app. The m6 can also be recharged automatically if its battery is low and continue to work until the job is done. It also has Keep Out Zones that allow you to instruct it not to go near certain areas, for example the area around a dog's bed.

The m6 requires less power than the majority of vacuum cleaners. It only uses enough energy to spray water, navigate its way through your home, and keep an internet connection through your wireless router. In my tests, even a lengthy mopping session that ran for two hours didn't exhaust the battery.

The m6 comes with three preset mopping modes that you can select from: standard mode is a compromise of the power of cleaning and surface coverage, deep mode focuses more on stubborn messes and extended coverage mode mop larger areas with less time. You can also modify the settings of your m6 with the irobot roomba App. You can even design a custom schedule and trigger it from your other automated smart devices.

The m6's cutting-edge vSLAM technology can map your home to guide it in neat, efficient rows, cleaning every inch of your floor. It's compact and small and can be tucked in between and around furniture. It has never gotten stuck or snagged in my home, and the batteries have yet to run low. You can control it using the iRobot app or by using your voice, if you have a Google assistant or Alexa device.
