iRobot Roomba Combo Review

iRobot Roomba combo adapts to your cleaning habits and suggests programs that can help you. Smart mapping, automatic scheduling, and Clean While I'm Away are just a few of the carefully curated iRobot OS features.

Its navigation was on par with the best irobot pet series robots in my tests and it made decent progress even when the path wasn't entirely well-defined. It's not the best at avoiding obstacles, however it was pretty quick to recognize and find a way to get around larger objects such as socks and toys that get in its way.

The app lets you customize your schedule, create an exact cleaning route and create Keep Out Zones or Clean Zones to direct the robot where it is supposed to go. It also displays the details of what it has done and its health state. It can also be paired with your Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant-enabled devices for voice control. The smart platform of iRobot automatically updates the software of Combo, adding new capabilities and features.

Mopping

With Smart Mapping, Roomba maps your home 7x faster, labels rooms to start targeted cleaning faster and also customizes Keep Out Zones and Clean Zones. You can direct your robot using voice commands or the app when used in conjunction with Alexa Siri or Google Assistant.

Navigation

The Roomba Combo utilizes Imprint Smart Mapping to map and learn your floorplan. It then can map it again as needed. You can map your room and then set your cleaning preferences through the iRobot App. The Roomba will clean that area automatically in the future when it is assigned. Roomba also comes with Dirt Detective, which automatically prioritises your dirtiest rooms for the most frequent mopping or vacuuming. Its PrecisionVision Navigation can recognise and avoid items like charging cables socks, shoes, and pets toys. This feature can help you save time when you're trying to finish the task.

Battery Life

The Combo J7+ is powered by lithium-ion batteries, which is powerful enough to keep your home clean. The water tank and dust bin can accommodate 200 and 400 ml respectively. It also comes with a high-efficiency filtering system that collects dirt particles and prevents them from returning. It is compatible with iRobot's application and voice assistants so you can control it via your smartphone or other devices.

Another nice feature is the ability to snap pictures of objects, which helps the Combo j7+ to avoid those objects in future cleaning runs. However, irobot black friday deals chose not to add automatic mop pad washing as we've seen many high-end robotic cleaners recently. This isn't a major issue however it would've been nice to have this included on the Combo j7+. The Combo J7+ comes with an excellent warranty and is simple to use.
