1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO

The i3+ EVO is identical to its sibling the i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ has self-emptying capabilities. The i3+ is a good option for those who want a fully automated, hands-off cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the dust bin after it has filled up.

Both robots excel at picking up surface debris on carpets and hard floors, and they're excellent in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart maps of your home that assist the i3+ to navigate and clean up efficiently. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we test the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and may have issues in navigating through transitions between surfaces like hardwood to rug.

iRobot recommends clearing areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes clearing out any clutter or toys it may encounter. It's also an excellent idea to keep the dust bin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. The i7+ is faster and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is its self-emptying bin that removes major maintenance sources and reduces recurring cost.

We were also awestruck by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room and even best automatic vacuum cleaner a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After connecting we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models like our top choices and the i3+ EVO and j7+ series. It also has a bigger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery longevity than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries strips and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It also feels more sturdy and has a more powerful motor, and performs notably better on both bare floors and carpets with a low pile, as well as offering a wider range of automation options.
