Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

The stats of an item can be improved through upgrading it, also referred to as "upping". Each upgrade increment increases a stat linearly.

Players can recycle six items at once to gauge each item's upgraded component. The cost of recycling items increases depending on their rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to increase the stats of your armor and weapons. This can be accomplished by many different methods, including the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item upgrades's mark levels or rarity. In addition there are many items that can be reforged, item upgrades which can increase their stats.

You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout the world as well as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the most common method of upgrading equipment. These are the items that slot into equipment. Most equipment has upgrade slots, and most require a certain level of upgrade. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others give an overall bonus.

There are many types of upgrade components available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments, can be put in any equipment type and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs can only be found in gathering tools. To upgrade an item, simply select it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats following the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will be marked as Blocked.

The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components required to create a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases with the upgrade level and rarity, but it can be reduced by many different methods, such as buying upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be improved by adding a prefix, like a rune or an insignia. Other weapons can be upgraded with a suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey visual information. They animate to capture the attention of the viewer and stimulate interest in the brain. Each glyph increases a stat's value by a certain range. This is displayed on the item, when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This range is not the actual amount by which the glyph will increase a stat, but the maximum amount it can do so. The value of the glyph is contingent on the tier and the quality of the item you are in awe of.

Most upgrade components inserted into items are not able to be replaced or salvaged without removing the gear in question, unless it is legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a rune or glyph that hasn't yet been incorporated into your equipment, you can transfer it to another piece of gear by using the Upgrade Glyphs context menu within the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

If you want to remove a glyph from an item then you'll need to salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be retrieved by removing the glyph fragments.

A glyph added to an item can cause it to become unstable and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory when you dismantle the item. You can also place an inscription on your equipment to give it a bonus. Deferred Damage, for example can be used to store damage and then be dealt slowly to the wearer rather than all at one time. This is beneficial for those who take many hits from enemies, but don't want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes of weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from a variety of sources, including mystery boxes and rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an unspecified affix, which is typically better than what they had prior to. Reroll tokens are also a great option to reroll stats on weapons, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or perks.

Rerolled items are not listed on the menu for item upgrades, but they can still be upgraded. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button, which changes the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. This amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its level. Therefore, higher-leveled items are more valuable for recycling than items with lower levels.

This reduction effect is most effective for Diadems and ring items that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.

Players have complained that the reroll system is expensive. It would be fairer to let people pay for it with money or food items that allows players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. However the paid rerolls aren't something the developers are planning to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade for an item is by increasing the upgrade amount. This boosts the upgrade value for the stat. The second option is to increase the effect of the upgrade, which can increase the healing or damage for a stat. In addition there is the possibility to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item upgrader mod.

It is important to keep in mind that upgrades are random. In most cases the best roll will be derived from glyphs, however there are also possibilities for more or unique rolls.
