Path of Exile Item Upgrading

The ability to upgrade items allows players to enhance their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing its base stats or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Items with weak bases, such as rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with strong bases, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons, trinkets, and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or extra effect, while the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, retrieved as loot by enemies, or received from chests and missions. Certain upgrades also have cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade an armor, weapon or other Item upgrader kit in the game, the player must select it and then click the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the required material or component needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three types that are universal upgrades (which include gems) prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, like gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are only placed in gear that is ascended and legendary equipment are similar to gems, but offer higher bonuses and cannot be placed in any other type of equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix to the end of the item's name. For example adding a Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the instance of upgrades for gathering tools, if a player replaces one glyph by another the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. However replacing any other upgrade component will damage it, except for the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some important variations from the previous versions. Gear is now categorized in tracks, and each item is able to be upgraded so many times before it is "leveled out." The cost for upgrades increases with each level up however the materials required do not increase as much. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a specific few items and maximize the effect of those items rather than spreading the cost of upgrades across several pieces.

If an item is completed, it will be able to receive an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan’s Energy and it resets at 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its highest level, it can receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available will depend on the item's base. For example an uncommon or rare weapon with a base that is normal will only have two affixes for it, while legendary armors can have up to eight affixes for it.

Each upgrade will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests depending on the item's current level and the slot it's in. Typically, weapons will require more Flightstones to upgrade than other types of equipment.

If an item fails to reach its maximum level, the NPC offers players the option to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set or upgrades. The process can take as long as two hours and costs the same amount of material but will result in lower chances of success.

To measure the height of a building engineers use a level to compare the measurement against an established reference point, like a benchmark, or the elevation of the ground. This process is called a "level loop." This involves taking readings using the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are built to a high standard of accuracy and safety.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of altering the upgrade item components of an item. It is an essential part of the game and can boost the damage, strength or other attributes. This can be done via the item menu or by clicking the Reroll button on an upgraded item. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be handled with care.

Reroll tokens are obtained by recycling upgraded items. These tokens are then used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another similar item upgrader kit. Recyclable items have a gauge that shows the degree of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item determines the amount of level that has been filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than others. It meant that you'd get the stats most important to your build more frequently than others. This included stats like armor's total armour, thorns and control impaired duration reduced stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and strike chance.

This changed with the recent patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each statistic. This can be either good or bad, based on what you want and need from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can also be equipped with a special bonus that boosts the item's power by a fixed percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you upgrade your product, the higher your chances of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also comes with number sets that grant a bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are placed on an item upgrader. This is an excellent method to add lots of power to a particular character without spending lots of money.

Many players are known to reroll their weapons and equipment, especially in the early stages. This is because rerolling could provide a much faster route to a more powerful character which allows them to achieve higher levels and progress in the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be arranged differently. They can be of various sizes, have no elements at all, or contain just one element. They can be used to organize data or sort information. They can also be used to study patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom provides an extensive selection of set items that can be upgraded. Some items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Armor sets that provide the highest defense value or set bonuses are usually worth upgrading. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their counterparts in purple. This makes them less attractive to upgrade in the event that your collection of armor and weapons pieces is already huge.

Some set items are upgraded to meet their own unique functions, which can be particularly useful in some builds. Guillaume's Face face and Aldur's Advance boots are examples of this. Both were upgraded to Exceptional Winged Helms as well as Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Upgrades can also be made to bring certain items to par with the different tiers. The Immortal King Set, for instance, comes with a wide range of levels, from 29 to 75. The upgrade of lower-level items in the set can increase their defense and make them more competitive in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will show the attributes of the item upgrades and the items required to upgrade it. The attributes of the item will be displayed, along with any required items. To upgrade the No-mouth face, for example, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, along with 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards. Players can also look up the upgrade requirements for specific items at the Cyrodiil Golden vendor Item Upgrader Kit or Leaderboard.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended as it will give a substantial increase in their power. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this as its defense value will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
