WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades give a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item upgrader kit has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter are less valuable from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The upgrader for items allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended to visit the upgrader at least once every few weeks, to keep your equipment up to date.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item however they'll always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to 385 ilvl will cost 20 recycle points, while purchasing the same item upgrader kit from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used for tools, armor, weapon, and accessory upgrades. They can be purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for item level upgrade items in exchange for a variety of currencies, and can also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade is purchased it can be used on any weapon, tool, or armor with an button, which displays a preview of the item at its next upgrade items level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with certain upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain level and is degraded, it can be sold and sold back to the upgrader for a lower amount of both currencies.

Many locations offer Item Level Upgrade upgraders in addition to the main island and some outposts. The NPCs provide both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The discount on upgrades increases depending on the amount of items being upgraded, and can be increased by having players complete some specific achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an item upgrader at beginning, unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. The NPCs who are able to facilitate upgrades are only accessible through a variety means. This is both a benefit as well as a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system has been altered a bit, with numerous new features added. Once a player obtains an upgrade to a particular level for an item in an armor slot, upgrading other items to that same item level will be less expensive, even when they belong to a different gear set.

Crests

Players have several options for upgrading their equipment in WoW. Flightstones are an item that is available to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are the main component of the Dragonflight gear progression system introduced in 10.1 and are available in 4 ranks.

The first thing to remember is that crests are only able to be used on equipment that is of a particular rank, and item Level upgrade each rank has different requirements for its upgrade path. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade process costs just 15 crests while the most complex may require as many as 20 crests based on the type of gear that is being upgraded.

Players can earn crests through completing content of the appropriate level, whether that means walking around and doing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of all difficulty for items of higher tier or Mythic+ heroic raid bosses and dungeons for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to get the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.

The new currency system isn't difficult to use, but it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. When a piece of equipment attains the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This allows players to upgrade their gear to the highest possible level on all their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests have one use therefore it's essential to use them properly. It is recommended to put your Whelpling-rank Crests on the top-quality equipment you can locate, and save Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially true for items like trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character which can only be eligible to avail the account-wide discount when all of the slots are full of high-quality equipment.
