iRobot recommends that you tidy the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter free of dirt to prevent them from becoming clogged. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or the battery is empty it will return to its docking station and automatic cleaning robot automatically empties its trash into the station's external dustbin and continues cleaning the area where it started. In our testing, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our top choice, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. Its greatest advantage over the Eufy is the self-emptying bin that eliminates the main sources of maintenance and reduces recurring cost.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. When connected to these services, we were able give the i7+ voice commands like "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car in a sea of vacuums powered by cordless that resemble minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a traditional stand-up best auto vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on a coffee table or bookcase.

The V10 is powered by a seven-cell, high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens and expels clean air back into your home. The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. As CR's tests have shown, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are not true. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.

Its smart navigation system uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it isn't equipped with the mapping capability of more sophisticated models like our top selections, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It is prone to getting stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.

The Xiaomi Mi robot is superior in many ways to the Roomba 694 in that it has fewer parts that require regular cleaning, is outfitted with an allergen-trapping HEPA filtration system, incurs lower costs for recurring expenses and is more sophisticated in its automation capabilities and can better maneuver itself. It also has a larger dustbin and charges quicker.

The eufy RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 for a variety of reasons, since it has a better battery life, the ability to change its suction power mode manually and comes with physical boundary strips, and can be controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a more powerful motor, and performs better on low-pile and bare floors.
