WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in certain stats. Each upgrade increases item level by +3. Each upgrade also boosts a random substat.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variation (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the requirement to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used to upgrade item will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enhancements.

The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item upgrades level of the item being upgraded, but will always be less expensive than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For example upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points purchasing a similar piece from a different player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items that can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, item Level Upgrade armor and other items. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders in a variety of currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased, it can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor using a button, which will show an image of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

Upgrade costs vary depending on the slot of the item and the current item level. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Certain upgrades provide a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item upgrades has been upgraded to a certain degree, it can be degraded and Item Level Upgrade sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currency types.
