The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart mapping with app-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is impressive. It also automatically refills and self-empties its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's most advanced robot vacuum to date. Its biggest advancement is an obstacle detection system that utilizes built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to send you images of objects that it encounters, meaning you can tell the robot to avoid it.

The Combo j7+ is also the best roborock vacuum robot cleaner commercial to mop we've ever tested, removing spills and dirt with ease and leaving no trace that it was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and even create Keep Out Zones so that it doesn't clean in areas that you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start and stop it by voice.

The design is also superior to the other models. It has a sleek, top 10 robot vacuum cleaner piece that appears like a toy rather than a loud and obnoxious robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal It also self-empties which can cut down on cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. Its counter-rotating rubber brush rolls kept the debris in one spot instead of scattering it all over the floor. It even managed to capture sand and small gravel, which most other robots couldn't do. It did without getting caught up in our pet's hair.

The j7+, although not as intelligent as the Roomba S9 for $1,217and Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and isn't able to clean the stairs, it's an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive, and the iRobot application makes it user-friendly.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that use robotic cleaners. It can take some time to download updates and it can be difficult to determine whether they're functioning until you actually witness them in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for an automated vacuum cleaner (moved here) that can do more than just clean floors, your most effective option is likely to be one that is a hybrid. This kind of robot usually has a built-in water tank which means they can vacuum and mop your house at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're expensive at retail, but they often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock makes some of our favorite robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ doesn't fail to impress. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it doesn't have certain features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles such as wall legs and table legs, which makes it a good choice for homes with lots of furniture. It is also very thorough in removing dust bunnies. This is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums fall short. The Q5+'s navigation is superb, with only a few mishaps along walls or in corners.

Like other Roborock devices like the Q5+, the Q5+ can be controlled using a handful of buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleaning. You can also set up schedules, create virtual barriers and no-go areas or adjust your home map, or change the room's label.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-emptying dock that's designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver, but once it's installed, emptying the bin can be accomplished with relative ease. It also features a large LCD display which is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't essential for everyone, but it can help easily keep track of the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available however, it's also expensive.

The base station looks nice and is easily hidden when not in use, and the size is relatively compact. The station's main selling point is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions and chores that other robots would leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do), empties the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot fully charged and clean.

Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tested that do a really good job of collecting debris from plain floors, and is not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs. This means that it could get stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need an automated vacuum that can do it all.

If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of alternatives available. A lot of eufy models are substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for instance, is cheaper and offers an identical experience on the app with more features, including the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and superior overall vacuuming performance on bare floors as well as high and low-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy, a Anker company has a proven track record of producing robot vacuums that strike the perfect balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different and offers a powerful cleaning robots for home on hard floors and carpets and mopping function too at a price that is affordable. It's easy to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, automated vacuum cleaner switch it on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near an outlet for power and plenty of room for it to move however.

The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, so it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is more subtle when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs the area in a spiral pattern for two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The main aspect that makes the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to create an image of the unmovable objects in its path. It keeps track of what it has already cleaned and what it is unable to access. If it requires a recharge, it automatically returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it left off.

The eufy G30 has some flaws. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower monthly costs. It charges faster, has the same battery life and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and comes with an array of boundaries that keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container does not require emptying as often and it struggles less with heavy materials such as cereal.
