Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to improve their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and access the kiln.

Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a stronger base while items with strong bases like eth titans aren't affected significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, armor, weapons and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or extra effect when the equipment is in use. They can be purchased from vendors, or found as loot by enemies, or gotten from missions and chests. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before you can upgrade.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the user must select it, and then click on the Upgrade button in the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected upgrade statistics will be and also the required component or material needed to complete the upgrade.

There are three kinds of upgrade components that are universal upgrades, prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, are able to be placed on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type restriction. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used with any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They add the suffix at the end of the item's name. For instance, adding a Glyph will transform a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

In the case of upgrades for gathering tools If a player replaces one glyph with a different one the old glyph will be returned to the inventory. If you replace another upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for the inscriptions, which are able to be swapped.

Leveling

The upgrade system in Path of Exile has some significant variations from earlier versions. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The upgrade cost is increased with each level, but the required materials aren't as high. This allows players to concentrate their efforts on a select few items and maximize the effect of these items rather than dispersing upgrade costs across multiple pieces.

If an item is completed and is leveled out, it will be capable of receiving an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the likelihood that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as Artisan's Energy. It will reset to 0 if the upgrade fails or increases when the upgrade succeeds.

When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive the affixes needed to enhance its abilities. The number of affixes available will depend on the item's base. For instance an uncommon or exclusive weapon that has a standard base will only have two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require the use of a certain amount of Flightstones and crests based on the item upgrader's current level and the item slot it's in. Weapons typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item fails to get to its maximum level the NPC will offer players the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process can take between one and two hours and will cost the same amount of material. However, it has a lower rate of success.

Engineers will utilize a level to compare the height of the building to a known point, such as a benchmark. This process is known as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method makes sure that buildings are built to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item. It is an important aspect of the game and can drastically improve an item's strength, damage, or other characteristics. You can do this through the item menu, or by pressing the Reroll button every time you upgrade an item. Rerolling is costly and should only be performed in the rarest of circumstances.

Reroll tokens are earned by recycling upgraded items. These tokens can be used to upgrade the original item or an similar item. Recyclable items have a level gauge that shows how much of the upgrade gauge is filled. The cost and rarity of upgrading an item upgrade determines the amount of level filled.

In the past, some upgrade items had priority affixes which made them easier to roll for than other. This meant that you'd receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other items. This included things like the armor's total armor, thorns, and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the last patch. Priority affixes were removed, and all upgrades have the identical chance of rolling each stat. This can be a great or bad thing depending on your needs and expectations from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can have a unique bonus that boosts the power of the item by a set percentage or a flat amount. These bonuses are added to the standard affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher the chance of receiving a unique bonus.

The game also includes number sets that grant an extra bonus when three or four upgraded items from the set are installed on an unit. This is a great way to add a lot of power to a specific character without spending lots of money.

Many players choose to reroll their equipment and weapons, especially in the beginning of the game. Rerolling can give players a faster route to a more powerful character and allows them to climb high tiers and progress the game faster.

Sets

Sets are collections of elements that can be arranged in a variety of ways. They can have various sizes, contain no elements at all, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They also aid in studying patterns. Sets can be classified in a variety of ways such as size and shape.

There are a variety of set items available to upgrade in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Some items are worth upgrading and others aren't. Upgrades are worthwhile for armor Item Upgrading sets that offer high defense value and set bonuses. Weapon upgrades aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. Upgrades are also possible to bring certain items to the level of the levels. For example, the Immortal King set has a large level range, between 29 and 76. Upgrading lower-level set items can increase their defense and increase their competitiveness in terms of damage.

Clicking the Upgrade button will display the attributes of the item and the items required to upgrade it. The item upgrade will be displayed with its attributes, along with the items needed to upgrade it. For example the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to see the upgrade requirements for specific items.

In general, armor and weapons have a higher trade value when they are updated. Particularly, for weapons that feature damage glyphs that are spell-like or weapon-related, upgrading them to gold is recommended since it will give a substantial increase in their power. This will also boost the defense value of armor that has an updated appearance.
