WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a boosts in certain statistics. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by 3. Each upgrade also increases an unspecified substat.

Upgraded gear is generally more useful, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll to get a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher level by providing the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapon. However, the item that is used to upgrade will be consumed forever and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can be applied to Enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

Upgrades can cost more based on the level of the item upgrading however, they are always cheaper than buying new equipment. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to upgrade weapons tools, armor, and other items. They can be purchased by players from NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, item level Upgrade an upgrade is able to be used on any tool, weapon, or armor. The button will display a preview of an item's next upgrade level in the event that there are enough materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current item level. For instance weapons are more expensive than bracers, Item Level Upgrade or gloves.
