Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our most loved robotic vacuums and the Q5+ doesn't disappoint. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and while it lacks some of the features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.

The Q5+ is remarkably soft when it comes to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it a great option for homes with many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is an area which many robot vacuums fail. The Q5+'s navigation system is also top-quality, with a few misses along walls and in corners.

The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. The app lets you start and stop cleanings or schedules, establish virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map or re-label rooms.

If you choose the Q5+ model, it includes a new auto-emptying dock, automated vacuum cleaner designed to make the robot easier to maintain. 3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the top in the market, but it's expensive.

The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and its size is quite compact. But the station's main selling feature is the way it automatizes numerous tasks and functions that most other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Many other robots require you to perform this.

Its vacuuming performance is also impressive. It's the few robot vacuums I've tested that does very well at cleaning up debris from unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its laser sensors and LiDAR sensors aren’t as reliable as other robotvacs. This means that it could get stuck or get confused in certain corners or rooms in the home. It's not able climb stairs as well as competitors, and it doesn't have a dock that allows you to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for plush carpets.

Although it doesn't provide as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive robot vacuum and mop that's worth the higher price tag.

If you're looking to save money or aren't concerned about the limitations of the robot, there are many other options on the market. Many eufy models cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is a bit more expensive and has more features, including the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, that provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors, low-pile carpets and even high-pile carpets.

Eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot vacuums that offer the perfect balance of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities at a reasonable price. It's easy to set up, just snap one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app takes you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi. After that, the G30 is ready to go. It is recommended to keep the dock near an outlet for power and enough space to allow it to move however.

The G30 is a compact device that measures 2.85 inches in height, so it will fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. The design is more modest than other models, and features sleek black finishes and three buttons that are physical: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs a space in an arc for two minutes). It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home for voice commands to perform routine cleaning tasks that are not scheduled.

The main feature that sets the G30 apart from its competitors is the method it cleans. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the immovable items in its path. It can remember the things it has cleaned and where it cannot access. When it needs to recharge, it returns to its starting point and begins cleaning where it started.

The elegant G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower recurring costs. It also comes with boundaries that prevent it from certain areas. The G30 is more affordable and simpler to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and it's less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
