1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO

The i3+ EVO and its sibling the i3 EVO are the same robots, but they differ in that the i3+ has self-emptying features. The i3+ is an excellent option for those who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but are willing to manually empty the robot's dustbin when it is full.

Both robots are adept at picking up surface debris off hard floors and carpets, and they are very good in moving around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates intelligent maps of your home, which help the i3+ EVO to navigate and clean in a manner that maximizes efficiency. However unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots we tested the i3+ doesn't have any obstacle-avoidance features, so it may be stuck on things like socks or power cords and it can have difficulty in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to carpet.

iRobot suggests cleaning the area around the i3+ EVO vacuums prior to using it. This includes getting rid of any toys or other clutter it might encounter. Also, keep the dustbin and filters clear to avoid getting blocked. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station, and it automatically takes the dirt out of the docking station’s external dustbin. 2. IRobot Roomba i7+

The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the top model in the iRobot flagship line and comes with all the latest features. It's self-charging, self-navigating and the most important feature of all -- it comes with self-emptying bins that eliminate one of the primary sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.

The Roomba I7+ can make rooms more efficient maps using Imprint Smart Mapping. It also integrates with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot with voice or via the app.

The i7+ is more efficient and more agile in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also cleaned large pet hair pieces from all surfaces, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin, which eliminates a major source of maintenance and reduces the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also impressed with the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot on how to start or stop cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and even vacuum a specific area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After being connected, to speak commands to the i7+, for example "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home App also offers options to manage i7+ settings and monitoring performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is an athletic car that is amidst a sea of cordless vacuums that feel like minivans and buses. It has the power and features to replace a stand-up vacuum for many households and can fit nicely on the coffee table or shelves where you can move it around like a magic wand.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, energy-dense lithium-ion battery which produces energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filtering system captures allergens, and then releases fresh air into your home. The cleaning head is specially designed to drive bristles made of nylon that are stiff into carpets to trap large particles and fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task that is being completed. It swiftly switches from handheld to floor vacuum and back again.

This model also has a dock that charges to 100% in around 3.5 hours and offers easy access to two attachments and a wand clip. This is a significant improvement over earlier Dysons, that require a long charge and are a pain to store.

The V10's main drawback is its limited running time. The claims of its marketing that it can provide up to 60 minutes of run time are misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a typical, not an exceptional, time for a battery-powered cordless vac. That's still enough run time to get rid of the majority of a home that's average size, but not quite long enough to get every single area (though a second run-through usually can be effective). This model has its own advantages however: it's lighter and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior for carpet floors with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums, the 694 is an affordable robot vacuum model that's a great choice for people who don't wish to spend too much on a robotic. It's capable of sucking up all types of debris and [Redirect Only] sizes during our testing, and it often passes over the same areas multiple times to get a really thorough clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the walls' edges which is a nice addition.

Its navigation system is smart and uses iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate your home, but it lacks the mapping capabilities of more sophisticated models such as our top choices and the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. This means that it can sometimes get stuck on things like phone cords or furniture that isn't in good condition, and frequently runs out of battery power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot hoover vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in most respects, as it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at maneuvering itself.
