WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item by +3. A random extra substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it has low requirements by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the need to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by transferring the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of weapon or armor. However, the item level upgrade (find more info) that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create enchantments.

You can upgrade your gear anytime by visiting the upgrader in any major city. It is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks to keep your equipment up-to-date.

Upgrades will cost more, based on the level of the item, but they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment. Upgrades such as upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. If you purchase a similar item, it will cost you 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are useful items that are used to level up weapons tools, armor, and other accessories. Players can purchase them from NPCs of item upgraders for various currencies. They can also find them on random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any weapon, tool, or armor. The button will display the preview of an Best item upgrade's next level of upgrade, in the event that there are enough materials.

Upgrade costs differ based on the Best item upgrader slot, and the current item level. For instance, weapons will cost more than gloves, bracers, or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to reduce the cost of the Flightstones or the crests used. Once an item upgrader mod is upgraded to a certain amount, it can be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of both currencies.

A lot of locations offer upgraders for items, including the main Island and a few outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to get a brand new upgrade recipe. The new currency system isn't difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest level of upgrading for any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all their characters instead of relying on seasonal loot.

Another important change is that crests only have one use and item level Upgrade it's crucial to use them wisely. It is recommended to use your Whelpling-rank Crests on the highest-quality gear that you can find and keep Drake and Wyrm Crests to be used for the next set of upgrades. This is especially relevant for items like rings and trinkets that occupy multiple slots. The discount on the account will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
