The Best Robot Hoover

The best robot vacuum and mop robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and leaves your floors spotless. Its price is surprisingly low and top-of-the-line features (such as dirt detection) are great features.

Both the Q5 and Q7 Max Series get very high scores on our tests on floors that are bare, and they're particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. There are some issues, however, that prevent them from being our first choice. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's therefore prone to getting stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate rooms with lots of people efficiently during our tests. It doesn't also have a camera that can see around corners.

It's still a good deal, especially if your office or home has a lot of bare flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also very quiet and can be used while you're at work or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping, using disposable wet wipes that don't hold on very well and can't deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 comes with a self-emptying cradle however. If you're in need of it clean the mopping pad, it can be changed for an awe-inspiring one in a matter of seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive mopping and vacuuming capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its smart cleaning maps and nimble navigation make it easy to clean, and efficient in dealing with larger particles like pet hair. It also features a self-emptying bin, powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the most efficient robot hoover for carpets, though it's not as effective as some rivals in deep cleaning.

This high-performing mop and vacuum combo utilizes advanced sensors to dodge obstacles and pet waste and it learns your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. The app lets you set up zones and modify the cleaning schedule. Its battery life is average in comparison to similar models.

It is possible to instruct the X30 Ultra to remove its mop and extend them when in a carpeted room which prevents cross-contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under low-lying furniture and along baseboards. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we've not seen on other robot vacuum/mop combos.

3. iRobot Roomba X40

With a sleek circular design that looks like a regular Roomba than the competitors' boxes this mop and robot vacuum is among the most attractive looking models in our tests. The newest model from iRobot is among the most intelligent, with advanced features including Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot vacuum cleaners uk that can wash its own mop pads).

It's also the sole robot vacuum or mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to the combination of high-tech sensors, including a structured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. It's also somewhat expensive, although it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Both of which are equally capable and more attractive. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some additional cost it's a capable two-in-one that should delight most.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the high-end robot mop and vacuum. It has a number of advanced features that will help you forget your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes charge of both vacuuming and mopping, with a multi-function dock that automatically empty the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot employs an array of LIDAR and structured light to map out floor plans and spot obstacles, and navigates more effectively than its more expensive competitors. It also has a front mounted camera that can detect hazards in real-time however this was not foolproof in our tests and was sometimes confused with power cords or obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has an maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to do the job. It also has an attribute called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for different areas of the house based on how dirty these areas are.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for one with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your house by using the app or via voice commands. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. Also, a recharge and resume function that lets your robot vacuum pick up right where it left off is great for busy families.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more intelligent than its price would suggest. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops using one pad that has a reciprocating motion, which is cleaner than the other mop cleaners for robots we've tested. It's self-sufficient too, with a full-featured app and a self-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot application is designed to help you navigate an exercise in mapping which collects information about your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or prioritize your most filthy rooms to ensure better performance. The app offers a variety of options, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums with mop vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has a powerful 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot cleaning that intensely cleans a localized area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a more sleek, Robotic Hoovers cheaper alternative to iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, akin to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are designed to resemble adorable eyes. It is great at vacuuming, but it is more likely to be stuck on low thresholds.
