The Roborock Q7 Max offers strong pressure and smart robot mapping using apps-based no-go zones, and its 180-minute runtime is awe-inspiring. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba j7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its most significant innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes, and the pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to send you a picture of an object that it encounters, meaning you can instruct the robot to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient mop robot we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt with ease without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot app makes it easy to remote control vacuum cleaner (you can check here). It can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't vacuum in areas you don’t want. And it's compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can turn it on and off using your voice.

Its design is an improvement over the rest and features a sleek, top piece that appears more like a toy robot than a loud, obnoxious one. Clean Base automatic floor cleaners Dirt disposal System is also self-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.

In our tests the j7+ was quick to remove dust dirt, pet hair and other particles. The counter-rotating rubber brushes held the debris in place, instead of scattering it across the floor. It even was able to capture sand and small gravel, which most other robots aren't able to do. It did all this without getting tangled up in our pet's hair shed.

The j7+, though not as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba S9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it can't clean the stairs, is a good option for those who require both a vacuum and a mop. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take a while to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell if the update is actually working until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

When you're looking for a robot vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your most effective option is likely to be one that is a hybrid. These robots come with a tank of water so they can vacuum and mop at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and Remote control vacuum cleaner even the capability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often come down in price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock produces several of our top robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not disappoint. This is their least expensive auto-empty model, and while it doesn't have certain features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it a great option for homes with many furniture pieces. It's also very thorough in cleaning dust bunnies. This is a place where many cheaper robot vacuums aren't able to meet. The Q5+'s navigation system is excellent, with few misses along walls and in corners.

The Q5+, as with other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device or through the Roborock App. Through the app, you can start and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and alter your home map or re-label rooms.

If you select the Q5+ it comes with a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make this robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once installed, the process of emptying the bin is easy. It has a large LCD screen which is helpful for setting up schedules or altering settings. This isn't a necessity for everyone, but it's one that will help you keep the track of your robot's maintenance intervals with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot vacuum cleaner vacuum and mop that's impressively clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and function are some of the best value robot vacuum on the market however it's expensive.

The base station looks nice and hides it when not in use, and its dimensions are quite small. The primary selling point of the station is that it automates many tasks, functions and chores that other robots leave to you. It can store clean and dirty water, it electrolyzes and heats the water (which the majority of other robots require you to do) also emptying the dustbin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot clean and charged.

Its vacuuming is also impressive. It's one of the only robovacs that I've tried that does an excellent job of picking up debris on unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot 900 series.

But the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR sensors and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robotvacs. This means it is prone to getting stuck or confused in certain corners or rooms in the house. It's also unable to climb stairs as well as other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a cleaning zone for plush carpets.

Although it doesn't provide as much in the way of cleaning-related options in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app as some other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still an excellent choice for those looking for a comprehensive mop and robot vacuum that's worth the premium price cost.

If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. Many eufy models cost substantially less. The eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers the same experience in the app, but with more features, including stairs, a fully-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company that has a long history of creating robot vacuum cleaner vacuums with the right combination of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different it offers a high-quality cleaning of hard floors as well as mopping functions as well as carpets at an affordable price point. It's easy to set it up, just snap on one of the side brushes, turn it on and plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. It is recommended to keep the dock near an electrical outlet and plenty of room to allow it to move around but.

The G30 is a small device, measuring 2.85 inches in height, which means it is able to be tucked away under couches and low-clearance pieces furniture. Its design is more subtle when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish with three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral fashion over two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also link the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to conduct cleaning without a schedule using voice commands.

The way the G30 cleans is what differentiates it from its competitors. It uses an integrated map to create an image of the immovable objects in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it started.

The elegant G30 has its flaws however. The iRobot Roomba is built better and has lower recurring costs. It charges faster, has the same battery life and performs better on bare carpet or floors with low pile. It also has a bigger dust bin that doesn't have to be emptied as frequently and comes with the boundary strips to restrict it from certain areas. The G30, on the other hand, is more affordable and a lot easier to maintain. Its smaller container means it doesn't need to be empty as often and it's less difficulty with bulky items like cereal.
