WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrader mod by 3. A random additional substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade, unless it has inherently low requirements (like the FB sorc's shield) or a very high stat variance (like the eth titan weapons). These types of gear get less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect model.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear to a higher item level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrades that is used for the upgrade will be consumed forever and cannot be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.

You can upgrade your equipment at any time by visiting the upgrader in any major city. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.

This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest possible level on all their characters, instead of relying on seasonal loot.

It's also crucial to choose crests wisely, as they are only used for one purpose. For instance, it's a good idea use all of your Whelpling-rank crests with the best equipment available and keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is especially true for items such as trinkets and rings that fill several slots. The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with top-quality gear.
