World of Warcraft Upgrades and item upgrade Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on armor, item Upgrader mod weapons and rings. They also increase bonuses such as PvE damage and crit chance.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will gain an additional 3% of the previous damage for every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases with the item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a stat boost or add a bonus effect. These can be obtained through crafting, buying from vendors, trading or looting. Certain upgrades come with special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can be inserted into equipment that has a slot to accommodate them. The item must have been at a minimum upgraded to blue level to allow a component to be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could be prefixed or a suffix, modifying the name of the item to the upgrade (for item Upgrader mod instance "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players to create stronger versions using less Upgrade crystals than they would require to reach the same level with normal methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades can be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of an item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're not sure of how much it will increase after a future reset.

If a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be expensive, and there is a high risk that the item may become obsolete or even break when it fails; a unsuccessful upgrade could ruin Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item upgrade. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that double or even eliminate possibility of failure, and some upgrades that provide a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components which can be put in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, including any pre-existing affixes. Glyphs can be upgraded in a variety of ways. We recommend upgrading them as fast as you can to level 15.

In the final game you'll find that the best way to improve your gear is by placing Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and provide an enormous boost to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to reach higher nodes much faster.

The majority of upgrades in the game can be replaced however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and put back in place without restriction. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires the use of a Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and then re-install.

Each Glyph has a specific range of values it can improve a stat by, and the value is shown when you select the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools, and during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you will require them to be placed on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus which will boost a specific set of stat nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Utilizing Glyphs Glyph can boost all nodes that are linked to it, so you should aim to place your Glyphs near the most important nodes of the Graph to maximise the impact. For example that a Druid should try to place their Glyphs near their primary damage points, but you should also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The upgrade system of items allows players to boost the effectiveness of certain items by introducing upgraded components. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level that determines the final statistics. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of 385 ilvl. Each level of an item upgrades requires a different amount of components to reach and the cost of upgrading increase as the item is advanced in level.

Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed yields a certain number of Technology points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough are earned, the upgrade will be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.

When an item is upgraded by a player to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a different item of the same type. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item upgrade also has its own set of bonuses. This can be a disadvantage, as it can make the item more expensive if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough tokens in order to do so. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will have an initial level and a different set of extra bonuses. This can be useful but it should not be used frequently as it could waste resources.

Certain upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives a buff when the player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like a dolphin). Requirements

Upgrades to armor set pieces also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapon equipment will increase the base damage and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items can be upgraded up to five times, with the exception of hero gear that can be upgraded with eight upgrades. Each each time you upgrade an item it is given an opportunity to fail. The failure rate increases the more you go beyond the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert to its initial condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar in its growth bar will reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained, such as the chance to crit damage to attack, additional effects (such as an increase in healing over time or the speed of reloading). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. Slots is a brand-new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated each time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The upgrade cost for non-premium items is equal to the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items have a lower cost per upgrade.

Premium items could require different upgrades than standard gear. For example they might require less sowels, however they may require more minerals and orons.
