Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Each glyph increases the value of a stat by specific amount. This is displayed on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that the glyph can improve a stat by and not the amount it actually increases it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and quality of the product you are creating it for.

The majority of upgrade components inserted into items can't be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you have a glyph or rune you don't want to use, but it hasn't been incorporated to gear yet, you can transfer the item to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

Items that have been rerolled may not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they can still receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is based on the item's rarity and its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.

Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to reroll Weapon Traits for upgraded units. Rerolls roll the percentage chance of a weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, it remains unchanged. Weapons can be repeatedly rolled up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but players must be aware that it could lower the overall ilvl of the weapon by the number of rerolls used in order to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective on Diadems and ring items, which have no other options for raising ilvls.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to let people pay for it with cash or food items which would allow them to make changes to their builds without spending too much time. However paying for rerolls is not something that the developers would like to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add the ability for players to alter their race in the near future.

Leveling

There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the upgrade amount that increases the value of upgrading the stat. The second option is to boost the effect of the upgrade, which increases damage or healing for an individual stat. The base item can be upgraded to a more advanced upgrade type.
