Path of Exile Item Upgrading

item upgrading (images.google.so site) allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, increasing its stats base or adding additional perks. To upgrade items, players must have the item upgrades in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, like rings can be upgraded to stronger bases. Items with bases that are strong, such as eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be added to armors, weapons trinkets, weapons, and gathering tools. They can be used as an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be bought from vendors, found as loot by enemies, or gotten from chests and missions. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player must select it and then click on the Upgrade button located in the toolbar. This will display on the right-hand side of the screen a preview showing the expected upgrade stats and the necessary component or materials.

There are three types of upgrade components: universal upgrades, prefix upgrades and suffix upgrades. Universal upgrades, such as gems, can be put on any type of equipment. They offer a lower bonus than upgrade components that have a specific type limitation. Infusions are gems that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They provide the same bonuses as jewels, however they cannot be used in other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of the names of items. For instance the addition of a Glyph could transform a staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and replaces glyphs with another glyph, the old one will be returned to their inventory. If you replace any other upgrade component with a glyph, it will be destroyed, with the exception for inscriptions, which can be freely swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade process differs from the previous versions in a few fundamental ways. Gear is now broken down into tracks, and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they are "leveled out." The cost of upgrading is increased with each level however, the materials needed don't increase as much. This allows players to focus their efforts on a few essential items and maximize their impact, instead of spreading cost of upgrades across several pieces.

Once an item has been leveled out in this way, it is eligible for an upgrade set of components, as well as an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is known as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 after failure or increases if the upgrade succeeds.

After a piece has been upgraded to its maximum level, it can receive an affix to increase its capabilities. The number of affixes that are available is determined by the item's type. Rerolling
