1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its most notable innovation, however, is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. It makes use of AI to recognize objects like charging cords and shoes. It's also the first to automatically send you a photo of an object it encounters so you can tell it to avoid it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the most efficient robot mop that we have ever tested. It cleans up dirt and spills easily, leaving no trace that it was there. While it's not quite as sophisticated as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Self-Emptying Vacuum, and it's not able to clean stairs, the J7+ is an excellent choice for those who need both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not expensive, and the iRobot app makes it very user-friendly to use.

While the iRobot Home app is very easy to use, we've found it to be less reliable than other apps that work with robotic cleaners. It can take a while to download updates, and often it's difficult to tell whether the update is working until you've seen it in action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you want a robot vacuum cleaner that does more than simply clean your floors, a hybrid is the best option. These bots are equipped with a water tank, so they can vacuum and mop simultaneously. They also come with a variety of additional features, including smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. The negative is that they tend to be expensive when purchased at full retail, but during Black Friday and Cyber Monday they usually drop in price.

Roborock makes some of our favorite robot vacuums, and the Q5+ is no exception. It's their most affordable auto-empty model, and although it's not equipped with some of the features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing to sacrifice a little to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is remarkably gentle when it comes down to obstacles such as walls and table legs. This makes it a great option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in getting rid of dust bunnies which is a place where cheaper robot vacuums can really fall short. The technology for navigation in the Q5+ is excellent too, with very little misses in corners and along walls.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device itself or through the Roborock app. With the app you can begin and stop cleanings and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones and adjust your home map, or change the labeling of rooms.

If you choose to purchase the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-empty dock that's designed specifically to make this robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed emptying the bin can be accomplished without difficulty. It also comes with an impressive LCD display that is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This isn't an essential feature for the majority of people however it can aid in keeping track of the intervals between maintenance for your robot with ease.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly intelligent in its vacuuming and mopping capabilities. Its design is among the best self cleaning robot vacuum in the industry however it's quite expensive.

The base station is attractive and hides it when not in use, and the size is quite compact. The station's most appealing feature is the way it automatizes various tasks and functions that other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water, and then electrolyze and heat the water. But the Freo X Ultra has its shortcomings, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it sometimes gets stuck or confused in certain areas of the home. It's not able climb stairs as well as some competitors, for instance, and it doesn't have a dock that lets you to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for plush carpets.

Although it doesn't have as many in terms of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts within the app as other robovacs, the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those looking for an all-around great robot vacuum and mop that's worth the premium price price.

If you're looking for a way to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are many other options on the market. Many of the eufy models cost substantially less. The Eufy Qrevo Curv, for example is less expensive and offers a similar in-app experience with additional features such as the ability to climb stairs, a full-function dock, and a better overall performance when vacuuming floors and low and high-pile carpets.

4. eufy RoboVac G30

Eufy is an Anker company that has an established track record of making robot vacuums that have the right combination of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for hard and carpet floors, as well as a mopping function for a low cost. It's simple to set up, simply snap on one of the side brush, turn it on and connect the charging dock. The app walks you through the steps needed to connect to your Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be placed near an outlet and have plenty of space to move.

The G30 is a tiny device that measures 2.85 inches in height, which means it can fit under most couches and low-clearance pieces of furniture. Its design is a little more modest than other models, and features a sleek black finish and three physical buttons: Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in a spiral pattern for two minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to use voice commands to do unscheduled cleaning.

The way that the G30 cleans is what separates it from its competitors. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the unmovable items in its path. It can remember the items it has cleaned and what it is unable to access. It will return to the base to recharge and continues cleaning the area it left.

The sleek G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged faster and has a similar battery life while offering better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't need to be empty as often and comes with a set of boundaries that ensure it isn't in certain areas. The G30 is, on the other hand is less expensive and is much easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and it has less trouble with bulky material like cereal.
