The best robotic mop and vacuum Robot Hoover

The best robot hoover can vacuum and mop without needing your attention, and will leave your floors clean. Its price is affordable and its high-end functions (such as dirt detector) are a plus.

Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the top model), they use intelligent mapping to design precise floorplans that avoid obstacles like furniture leg. The robots also have a feature called Carpet Boost that increases its power when it senses dirt on the carpet.

The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored excellently in our tests on floors that were bare and are especially adept at cleaning hair from dogs. They do have some flaws however, which prevent them from being our top option. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance which means it's susceptible to getting hung up on socks and shoes and couldn't navigate tight spaces very well in our tests. It doesn't also have a camera to see around corners.

It's still a great deal, especially if your home or office has lots of unfinished flooring and you're looking to save some money. It's also extremely quiet and can be used while you are at work or in school. It's not equipped with the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming feature that's available in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective at mopping. It relies on disposable wet wipes that don't adhere very well and cannot handle dried-on debris. The Q5 does have a self-emptying dock, though. If you want to, you can swap the mopping pad to a dry one in minutes.

2. iRobot Roomba

The iRobot Roomba X30 is a compact elegant vacuum cleaner that also has the ability to mop floors. Its agile navigation and intelligent cleaning maps make it easy to clean and efficient at taking on larger particles, such as pet hair. It also has self-emptying dustbins as well as powerful suction, and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum and mop robot hoover for carpets, but it lags behind some competitors in deep cleaning.

This highly efficient mop and vacuum combo makes use of advanced sensors to stay clear of obstacles and pet waste, and it will learn your home's layout over time for more efficient cleaning. You can modify its cleaning schedule and customize zones with the well-designed app. It has a battery life that is comparable to other models.

If the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted area, you can instruct it to remove and extend its mop. This helps prevent cross contamination. The flex arm is ideal to get under furniture with low levels and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same level of washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

In tests during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop to complete an entire home, and it did so with the battery at 66 percent left. It did a great cleaning job on a variety of rooms and floors with various flooring types including some area rug. Its obstacle detection was excellent and it was able to avoid fake dog turds, socks, shoes, and bundles of cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however it offers superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically emptys into its base, and supports voice commands through Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It is able to clean floors even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen on other robot vacuum/mop combination.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

The robot vacuum and mop combination is sleek and has a circular look that looks much like a Roomba unit than the boxy models of the competitors. It's one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. The latest flagship model from iRobot is also among its most advanced. It comes with advanced features, like Enhanced Dirt Detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads autonomously).

It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that has an exemplary 10/10 in our evaluations due to a mix of high-tech sensors, which include a camera, structured light system and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is easy to use, offering an intuitive mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that the X40 still a loud unit. This can be a concern in the mornings before work, or during the night when you're trying to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as pricey as the Ecovacs X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are similarly capable and better-looking. If you're willing with a bit more noise and a little more cost it's a capable two-in-one that should satisfy most people.

4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop, with a lot of advanced features that let you get rid of your chores. Similar to Ecovacs the range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes the care of mopping and vacuuming, with a multi-function dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot uses an array of LIDAR and structured light to create the floor plan and detect obstacles, making it more efficient than its more expensive rivals. It also has a front-mounted camera to detect hazards in real-time, although this wasn't quite reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum cleaner has the capacity to suction up to 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to accomplish the task. It also has a feature known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts the frequency of cleaning for various areas of the house based on how dirty these areas tend to be.

If you have a larger home, you should consider selecting a model with a the option of cleaning zones or spots. This lets you inform the robot vacuum with mop of which area of your home must be cleaned with the help of an app or voice control. If you have furniture, a stairway mode is also useful. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that allows your robot vacuum to resume where it left off could be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is more sophisticated than its price would suggest. It does a stellar job vacuuming, picking up 55% of debris in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with only one pad and a reciprocating motion that is more efficient than most mop cleaners for robots that we've examined. And best robot hoover it's highly self-sufficient with a full-featured application and an auto-emptying washable base.

The well-designed iRobot application guides you through a mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan and any "no-go" areas you have marked on the map. It can be used to make cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritise your dirtiest rooms to improve performance. The app also provides access to many features like seasonal suggestions, custom maps and advanced settings for your cleaning.

Its shape is more rectangular than most other robot vacuums, meaning it is able to reach corners and under furniture more easily. It also has strong 8,000 Pascal suction and intelligent combs for pet hair. It also has the ability to set up a spot clean that scours a specific area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and cheaper alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It is more appealing in its design, similar to Dolce & Gabbana. The twin cameras are shaped like cute little eyes. It does a good job vacuuming but is more prone to get caught on low thresholds and is a bit noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has a less intuitive app and a tiny base station that isn't able to double as an emptying bin.
