Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one time and without the need to switch between devices. They also can save space in comparison to two separate units, particularly in smaller living areas.

A good combination bot will provide excellent navigation and obstacle avoidance. Look for models that automatically empty their bins, refill their water tank, and machine-wash their mopping pads from a dedicated dock.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It's among the easiest robots to set up that we've ever tested. Unpacking is simple and the quick-start manual can get you up and running in no time with an entire dust bag, water tank and a hard floor solution.

The S1 Pro is a powerful little machine that mops up a storm and also vacuums well. The mops are spun at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to remove dirt, pet hair and sticky dried spills. The automatic vacuum and mop cleaner has four power settings, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app which lets you choose the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You can, for example ask the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly but leave the spare bedroom alone. The S1 Pro's front colision sensors and its smart navigation technology are superb and the robot is capable of detecting small obstacles that other models have difficulty overcoming. Its only minor issue is that it tends to hit objects and walls at full speed - but just a glance at the history of cleaning in the app will tell you exactly what it's doing and where it's headed and the obstacles it's run into or avoided.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station informs you when maintenance jobs need to be done, such as emptying the debris tray, and washing the water tank that is dirty. It's also capable of mixing detergent automatically into the water tank, with a 600ml bottle of eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop come with plenty of running time, with the mop able to operate for an 184-minute runtime in Quiet mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in standard mode before having to recharge or return to the base to refill. You can also view the entire cleaning robot mop and vacuum information in the app, which is well laid out and easily understood however we would have liked to be able to distinguish between a vacuum and mop and best automatic vacuum cleaner clean when looking at a clean area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot mop and vacuum. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that allows it to pick up finer hairs and other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

The Roborock model, like the other two I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it get around obstacles like furniture, walls, and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by incorporating a dual camera that can detect objects and determine whether they're a wall or another surface. It then can alter its course automatically and clean the objects without stumbling.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also the most loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is eye catching and only has three buttons that are physically accessible. The power button, which also resumes the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to take the robot to its dock. Lifting the hinged lid, you will find a 350ml dust bin and 200ml water tank. The water tank self-empties, and the bin is auto-refilling.

The only downside I've discovered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to change the mopping cloth if needed, but it's difficult to remove the mount for washing manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will come into contact with the rough Velcro-like fastener mechanism on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of smart features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these advanced features. It also contains maps and advanced mopping options. The app lets you schedule cleanings and monitor battery life. But you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to allow voice control with this model which is unfortunate considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and intuitive, and the X40 has many smart features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, view floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also track its progress and notify you when it's done.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's among the most expensive on the market and comes with numerous additional features that distinguish it from. Smart DuoScrub, a new feature in its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is more than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni, and it can vacuum up pet hair and smaller dirt particles as well as picking up spills and wet spots.

The mop is also cleaned and dried inside the base station after every use. This is a great feature because it prevents the growth of odours and mould in the storage area, and it also makes mop systems more efficient. This is a feature we haven't yet seen on other robot vacuums and mop models and it could be a good way of keeping your home clean for longer.

There's a wealth of settings available, including the ability to schedule cleaning times and alter a variety of preferences. The app allows you to make these settings or utilize the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and has a lot of options for customizing the cleaning routine. Additionally, there are a lot of features that other robots don't include, such as the Clean Genius mode that automatically boosts suction power when it detects dust particles, Robots That vacuum and Mop instead of relying on the manual setting.

The L20 Ultra has a stylish design with a metallic-white-white finish that looks sophisticated and classy. It's a bit heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots on this list, but it's still not excessively heavy. It feels solid and well-constructed. Mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mop works well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can also reach down to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice addition.
