WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades provide a guaranteed boost to specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item upgrader mod by +3. A random extra substat is also increased with each upgrade.

Upgraded gear generally sees more value in trade as long as it meets low requirements (like the FB shield of the sorc) or a very high stat variance (like eth titan weapons). The latter see less value from upgrading due to the necessity to roll for a perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be made on any type of weapon or armor. However, the item used for item Level upgrade the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and will not be able to be used again. Upgrades can also be used to create the enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item level of the item being upgraded, but will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a Benthic chest piece to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points while buying a similar item from another player will costs 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and accessories. They are purchased by players from NPCs that sell upgrades to items in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any tool, weapon, or armor. button, which will show a preview of the item at its next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrades varies based on the slot of the item upgrader mod and the current item level, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currencies.

The account-wide discount will only be applicable if all slots on the character are filled with high-quality equipment.
