MFM tester Georgina found the crib to be easy to put together and the instructions were clear, which made it a quick and easy build. It folds into a compact size, and comes with a handy travel bag.

Easy to assemble

They are compact and easy to set up, so they can be placed next to your bed. They are also lighter, making them more transportable. Georgina who was one of MFM's home testers, said that the Maxi-Cosi Lora was "super easy to put together, with clear instructions and easy zips." The crib can also function as a travel cot and comes with a convenient bag for when you're moving. It comes with multiple mesh openings for ventilation, and its adjustable height allows it to fit any mattress.

It's also super-easy to assemble as Georgina who took part in our MFM tests was able to put it together quickly and didn't have to look up the instructions. It's also a great travel cot. It folds flat and can be popped into bags.

The Next2me Magic, shortlisted for best bedside cot uk Cot, Crib, or Moses Basket in the 2021 Mother&Baby Awards, has a larger size, yet it's small and simple to attach to your bed. Georgina found it easy to assemble too, although she did find that the zips could have been better described on the instruction sheet.

Easy to clean

Look for cribs that come with mattress covers that can be washed in the machine when looking at cribs for bed or travel cots. That will help you keep it free of leaky nappies, sick babies and dribbles. It's important to choose one that is able to be disassembled and partially dismantled, so you can get into all the corners and crevices for an extensive cleaning and sanitising session.

This is crucial, as it will ensure that all dirt and germs have been removed. Make sure that the sides of the crib are securely secured to ensure that your baby won't fall down or get trapped.
