However, they have a few flaws that keep them from being our top choice. For instance, the Q5's navigation system does not have AI-powered obstacle avoidance and is therefore prone to getting hung up on shoes and socks and can't navigate tight spaces very efficiently in our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera to look around corners.

However, it's a good choice, especially if you want to save money on an Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. It's also quiet and operates while you're at work or in school. The only thing it's missing that you won't find in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30 is edge-to-edge vacuuming on bare floors. It's also less effective at mopping, as it relies on disposable wet wipes that don't stay on for long and don't take on dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying dock, Best Robot Vacuum though. 2. iRobot Roomba X30

It can also clean the floor even after it has vacuumed. This is something we haven't seen before on other robotic vacuum/mop combos.

3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

With an elegant circular design that appears more like a normal Roomba rather than the boxes This mop and robot vacuum reviews vacuum is one of the most appealing looking in our tests. iRobot's latest flagship model also is its most advanced model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology as well as future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that can autonomously wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop that scored a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is thanks to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured light system, a camera and multiple lasers. The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to draw out floorplans and identify obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its top competitors. It also has a front-mounted camera for real-time hazard detection however, it wasn't reliable in our tests and was occasionally confused by power cords or other obstructions.

The vacuum mop cleaner robot cleaner has a maximum suction of 7,000 Pascals which is more than sufficient to do the job. It also has an option known as "Intelligent Dirt Detection", which regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the house based on how dirty the areas tend to be.

For larger houses it's worth looking for models that has zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to instruct the robot to clean a particular area of your house via the app or via voice commands. A stair mode can be useful if you have a number of furniture. Also a recharge and resume feature that lets your robot vacuum take over exactly where it left off is great for busy families.

iRobot RX3

The RX3 is a cleaner with more intelligence than you'd think from its price. It does a stellar job cleaning, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad, which uses a reciprocating motion, which does a better job cleaning than the other robot mop cleaners we've tried. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying, washable base.

The iRobot app is designed to help you navigate a mapping run that collects data on your floorplan as well as any "no go" areas you've marked on the map. You can use it to create cleaning schedules, arrange an area for cleaning or to prioritize your most filthy rooms for better performance.
