1. iRobot Roomba j7+

The Roomba J7+ is iRobot's smartest robot vacuum to date. Its greatest innovation is a camera-based obstacle detection system that makes use of built-in AI to detect objects like charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste that the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often slough through). It's also the first to automatically send you a picture of any object it encounters so you can tell it to stay clear of it in the future.

The Combo J7+ is the best amazon vacuum robot mop we've ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills quickly and leaves no trace of it was there. The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable as other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and at times it's difficult to tell if the update is actually working until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking to purchase an automated vacuum cleaner that can do more than just clean floors, your best option is probably one that is a hybrid. This type of robot typically has a built-in water tank, meaning they can both mop and vacuum your home simultaneously. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and even the capability to dry and wash mopping pads. The downside is that they can be pricey at full retail price, but on Black Friday and Cyber Monday they are often reduced in price.

Roborock is the manufacturer of some of our favorite robotic vacuums, and the Q5+ does not disappoint. This is the cheapest model of their auto-empty line. While it may not include some of the luxurious features (like no-go areas and multi-story memories) however, it's an excellent choice for those who are willing to make some compromises to save a few bucks.

The Q5+ is noticeable gentle around obstacles like tables and walls, which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is an area where many cheaper budget robot vacuum vacuums be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation system is excellent, with few misses on walls and corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled with a handful of buttons on the device or through the Roborock app. The app lets you start and stop cleanings. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go areas and adjust your home map, automated vacuum cleaner or re-label the rooms.

If you select the Q5+ model, it comes with a new auto-emptying dock, designed to make the robot easier to maintain. It requires a screwdriver install, but once in place, emptying the bin is relatively simple. It also comes with an impressive LCD display which is great to have when creating schedules or changing settings. This feature isn't essential for the majority of people, but it can help you easily keep the robot's maintenance schedules.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's astonishingly clever in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design and features are some of the most advanced available however it's expensive.

The base station looks nice and hides it when not in use, and the size is relatively compact. The main reason to buy the station is that it can automate many tasks, chores and functions that other robots leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and electrolyze and heat the water. Most other robovacs will require this.

Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robot vacuum I've tested that does well at picking up debris from bare floors. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.

The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, meaning it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain areas of the house. It's also unable to climb stairs like other models and doesn't come with a dock to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.

While it doesn't offer as much in the way of cleaning options available in its app, or as many shortcuts in the app like other robovacs the Freo X Ultra is still a top choice for those seeking a great all-round mop and robot vacuum that's worth the higher price tag.

If you're looking to save money or aren't averse to the limitations of the robot, there are plenty of other options available. Many eufy models cost considerably less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive and has many more features, like the ability to climb stairs and a full-function Dock, which provides a better overall vacuuming experience on bare floors carpets with low pile, and even high-pile ones.

4. Eufy RoboVac g30

Eufy is an Anker company with a long history of creating robot vacuums with the right balance of features, performance, and price. The G30 Hybrid is no different, offering a capable cleaning on hard floors and mopping, carpets and other surfaces at an affordable price point. It's easy to set up simply by snapping one of the side brushes on, switch on and plug in the charging dock. The app walks you through several steps to connect it to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. You'll need to place the dock near an outlet for power and enough space to allow it to move around however.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and will fit under many couches and other furniture with a low clearance. Its design isn't as ostentatious compared to some rival models. It has a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for auto vacuum room cleaning robot start/pause (which scrubs an area in a spiral fashion over two minutes) Recharge, and Spot Cleaner. You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.

The main aspect that sets the G30 above the rest is the method it cleans. It makes use of an integrated map to make an image of the unmovable items that are in its path. It remembers what it has already cleaned and where it cannot access. When it needs to recharge, it returns to its base and resumes cleaning where it left off.

The eufy G30 has a few issues. The iRobot Roomba is more durable and has lower cost of operation. It charges faster, offers similar battery life and performs better on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It also has a larger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as often and comes with an array of boundaries that keep it away from certain areas. The G30 is less expensive and easier to maintain. Its smaller canister means it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently, and it has less difficulty handling bulky products like cereal.
