However, unlike the i7+ and other top-rated robots that we tested, the i3+ doesn't have a feature for avoiding obstacles, so it may get stuck on things such as socks or power cords and it may have trouble in navigating through transitions between surfaces like from hardwood to rug.

iRobot suggests that you clean the area in which the i3+ EVO vacuums before using it. This includes putting away any toys or clutter it may encounter. It is also recommended to keep the filters and dust bin clear to avoid becoming clogged. When the i3+ EVO’s internal bin is empty or the battery is low it returns to the docking station and automatically emptys the dirt into the docking station’s external dustbin. Then it continues cleaning from where it began. Battery life is about an hour-and-a-half of continuous usage. It takes about three hours to charge.

2. iRobot i7+ Roomba

The iRobot i7+ is an excellent model from iRobot's flagship line and comes with the latest technology. It is self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most significant feature is the self-emptying bin. This removes the need for regular maintenance.

The Roomba I7+ is able to map rooms more efficiently with Imprint Smart Mapping. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or by voice.

In our testing the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our Top rated robot vacuum choice and the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surface kinds including carpeting. Its main advantage over the eufy, is its self-emptying dustbin which removes a major source of maintenance and lowers recurring costs.

We were also impressed by the i7+'s integration with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant AI services, which we used to instruct the robot to begin, stop or pause its cleaning sessions and to move around the room cleaning robot, and even vacuum an area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and easy with the iRobot Home app. We were able, once connected, to speak commands to the i7+ such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s preferences and monitoring its performance.

3. Dyson Cyclone V10

This tiny Dyson model is a sports car in a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It is powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but it is also compact enough to fit on a bookcase or coffee table.

The V10 is powered by a 7-cell, [Redirect Only] energy-dense lithium-ion battery that produces continuous, non-fading power for 60 minutes. Its advanced whole-machine filtration system captures allergens and expels cleaner air back into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles that penetrate deep into carpets and collect large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task that is being completed. It can quickly change from floor vacuum to handheld vacuum, and vice versa.
