In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the most effective ways to upgrade your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items.

Upgrades to equipment provide an additional bonus to the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the parts that can make your weapons and armor better. You can get them from fighting off enemies, locating them in spheres of items or buying them from karma merchants.
