Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that vacuum and mop provide the convenience of cleaning both dry debris (dust, dirt) and wet messes (spills, stains) in one session without having to swap out devices. They can also save storage space compared to having two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Look for models that have docks that allow them to automatically empty their bins, fill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can automatic vacuum and mop robot and mop well. The mops spin at high speed and use 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a selection of attachments and brushes, and a user-friendly app that lets you select the type of cleaning you'd like for each room.

A handy LCD screen on the docking station tells you when maintenance jobs are required like emptying the debris tray, and cleaning the dirty water tank. It is also able to mix detergent into the water tank automatically with a 600ml of eufy solution.

Both the S1 Pro vacuum and mop are able to run for a long time, with the mop able to operate for 184 minutes in Quiet mode and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before needing to recharge or return to the base to replenish. You can view the entire cleaning information in the app, which is intuitively laid out and easy to understand however we would like to be able to distinguish between a vacuum only or mop and vacuum clean when looking at a cleaned area in the cleaning history.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the latest version of Roborock's most popular robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. This year's model has an agitator that doubles as its mopping pad. This enhances the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power which allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners might miss.

Like the two other Roborock models I've tried the S8 Pro Ultra has a reactive 3D obstacle avoidance and infrared technology to help to avoid furniture, walls and other obstacles. But the S8 Pro Ultra takes things an extra step by having a dual camera that can detect objects and decide whether they are an object that is a wall or a different surface. It is able to change its direction automatically and clean the objects without missing a step.

This is the most expensive of the three models I've reviewed, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek and angular design is striking and has only three physical buttons which include the power button which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock; and a home button that can bring the robot back to its dock. The hinged lid opens up to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml water tank. The water tank will empty itself and the bin auto-filling.

The only issue I encountered with this model was that the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't movable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount to wash manually. I've found any plush carpet that the robot crosses will come into contact with the rough Velcro like fastener system on mounts, Robots That Vacuum and Mop which can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a variety of smart features, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. The Roborock app lets you manage and set up these smart features. It also includes maps and advanced mopping options. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, track the life of batteries and maintenance on components. However, you'll need to jump through a few hurdles to enable voice control with this model which is a pity considering how well it performs otherwise.

3. Dreame X40

Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, adjust suction power and mode, see floor plans and maps and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it is finished.

The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous features that make it a great option for busy families. Its docking station automatically empties the dustbin into a large 3.2 L bin, cleans the mop pads, and refills them with clean water and a cleaning solution. It also can detect the moment when the mop pad has reached its maximum capacity and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra robot is one of the most expensive models on the market. It has many features that make it stand out. The mops come with a brand new feature called Smart DuoScrub. It makes use of two mops with high-speed motors to clean floors more thoroughly than the standard method, and it comes with the highest suction power of 7,000Pa. This is much higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra or Ecovacs Deebot T20 Omni and can clean pet hair and small dirt particles - in addition to removing spills and wet spots.
