However, they do have several flaws that prevent them from being our top choice. One of the weaknesses of the Q5 is that its navigation system doesn't have AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks, and it couldn't navigate densely packed rooms very efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of a room.

It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Additionally, it's quiet and can work while you're at work or school. 3. Roomba X40 from iRobot

This mop and vacuum combination is sleek and has a circular design that appears much like a Roomba model than the bulky models of the competition. It is one of our most attractive looking robot vacuums. iRobot’s latest flagship model is also its smartest. It has advanced features like enhanced dirt detection and future compatibility (another company's robot that can wash mop pads on its own).

It's also the sole robot vacuum/mop to score a perfect 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera, and a variety of lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could fill and empty its basestation on its own. It also boasted a suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mop mops.

As with other iRobot models as well, the X40 is user-friendly, offering a simple mobile app interface and integration with Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, and Google Assistant. The only issue is that it's still quite a noisy unit which could be problematic if you run it in the morning before work or in the evening as you attempt to sleep.

The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the line robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of features that are advanced and will make you forget about your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free robotic cleaner and mop that is similar to Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It features a multi-functional dock that can automatically emptys the best automatic vacuum's bin and fills up the water tank, and cleans and dries mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and spot obstacles. It navigates more intelligently than its premium competitors. It also has a front mounted camera for real-time detection of hazards, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was often confused with obstructions or power cords.

Its vacuum has a high suction capacity of 7,000 Pascals which is more than enough to complete the task. It also features "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the amount of time the vacuum works and alters the frequency of cleaning for different areas of your home in accordance with the amount of dirt they tend to be.

For bigger homes it's recommended to choose a model with spot or zone cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean one specific area of your home using the app or via voice commands. If you have lots of furniture, a stair mode is also useful.
