Path of Exile Item Upgrading

In Path of Exile, item upgrading is among the most effective ways to upgrade your equipment without relying on large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upgrade your items effectively.

Upgrading equipment grants an additional bonus to the item upgrade's base stats. This bonus is based on the upgrade component's level and rarity.

Components

Upgrade components are the parts that make your weapons and armor more effective. You can find them by destroying enemies, buying them from karma vendors, or finding them in items-spheres. They can also be rescued from equipment that has them or by using an advanced salvage kit such as the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. Unlike most other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.

Upgrade components are primarily used to upgrade an item but they can also be used for other purposes. They can be used to increase the level or experience gained by upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can be forged to give extra bonuses.
